Doom metal is a form of heavy metal music that emerged as a recognized sub-genre during the first half of the 1980s. Generally, doom metal features very slow tempos, low-tuned guitars and a much "denser" or "heavier" sound than other metal genres. Doom is such a great genre. It does get ignored and gets lumped in with melodic death metal bands all the time. When I saw Katatonia the other bands were Melodic Death (Insomnium stole the show but Katatonia still rocked.)

Candlemass should be checked out at all costs though if you are interesting in Doom Metal though.

Candlemass is a mandatory choice if you are interested in Doom metal.
They kick so much ass.
Also Katatonia's Dance of December Souls is a great album as well.

Also ICS Vortex own Doom metal band, Lamented Souls

Not their best song but it's ok.
I recommend the album "The origin of Misery".

Ah cool. I've never heard of them, but I like ICS... listened to 'Essence of Wounds' on youtube (your vid doesn't work by the way), pretty good stuff.

Oh my mistake

I'm hearing the song right now.

Doom Metal is pretty hit and miss my interest goes about 50/50 with it.

I don't really listen much to it but the band's quite good imo
