Default E3 Thread (links to live buffering too)

    http://livewire.ign.com/2008/e3/#

Soo... Microsoft just finnished the press conference, not that great except for the first minutes and the last announcement.
If you dont know yet, Final Fantasy 13 was just announced for the 360 making sony lose the exclusive.
Another 3 RPGs were also announced for 360 and PC.
Fallout 3, Gears 2, RE5 and the rest were music games and some other boring stuff.

What did you think of it?

    Final Fantasy 13 for the 360 =

I knew it, I've started to preach about it like a madman. This is the end of exclusives, everything is going to be multi platform and do so simply for the money.
Even so, the 360's lineup was rather paltry. I'm happy as a PC gamer. We get almost all of the multi-platform releases, and we have some great upcoming exclusives.

Not really impressed, but I'm a Wii owner, so it didn't really affect me. Fallout 3 will come out on the PC, so I'm covered and Gears of War 2 doesn't seem all that special. Looks fun, but not earth-shattering(I guess that's to be expected with the overrating of XBOX games[see: Halo]). I'm also not into JRPG's, so FF13 was somewhat disappointing as their "Big Announcement" for me, but I can see what impact it can have and why it is such to other people. The best-looking game there for me was Banjo-Kazooie. I loved those games on the N64 and am pissed that the third one's an XBOX360 exclusive.

I'm also a big GH fan, so Van Halen and Eagles exclusivity is a big thing for me. I never really got into AC/DC so, that loss isn't too bad and the rest of the setlist for RB2 doesn't look all that appealing.

    You and I both.

Ok I missed the fallout 3 part but I just saw it now and I'm not really impressed. Graphics not impressive, ugly textures, abused HDR lighting etc...
The gameplay looked interesting, but It's still a little boy compared to what STALKER clear sky is going to be.

What the hell that nuclear explosion was ridiculously small!!

    Fallout 3 = this years Moo 3.

360 is doing what i predicted it to do on this forum when I flamed the people who bought PS3 when it came out. Sony = dead, mediocre quality in their entire product line for a ridiculous price is their way of doing business and Square and other game companies see that the 360 is doing much better even though microsoft is "evil".

idk but i think microsoft must have paid A LOT of money for Bethesda and Capcom to demo Fallout 3 and Resident Evil 5 on their system and not the PS3

Well Beth has stated before that the game is being developed on the Xbox360 primarily since it's easier to work with so no suprise that they used that to show off the game.
    CoD4 did the same thing.

i can't wait to ride the brumak in Gears of War 2, when they mentioned it earlier it made me all tingly inside when Marcus said, "If they can ride it, so can we"

Can't say I'm excited for the new Xbox software.
I kinda liked the look of the old dashboard.
It was simple and easy to use.
Guess will wait and see how things turn out on that one.

I was very sceptical of spore, but after this presentation...... Im empressed.
Even if its not going to be a deep game on release, it has insane potential.

Did anyone see the new Resident Evil 5 trailer? I think that crazy scientist in the beginning is Ozwell Spencer.

    Ozwell E. Spencer

Ozwell E. Spencer is one of Resident Evil's most important and mysterious side characters. In the series, he is the owner and co-founder of the Umbrella Corporation, a pharmaceutical company that secretly manufactures bio-organic weapons.[19] His colleagues, James Marcus and Edward Ashford, join his company, but show more interest in studying the newly discovered Progenitor virus.[19] Eventually, Ashford dies, and Spencer seizes control of the company and its research by sending his subordinates, Albert Wesker and William Birkin, to assassinate Marcus.[20][21]

Spencer conducts some of his company’s research in the Arklay Research Facility, in the Arklay Mountains. He originally hired George Trevor, a famed architect to construct the mansion, but soon became paranoid that Trevor knew too much about the mansion’s secrets.[22] Spencer kills Trevor, and kidnaps his wife and daughter, Jessica and Lisa. Rather than killing them, Spencer uses them as human guinea pigs for Umbrella’s research,[23] in events that are detailed in Wesker's Report and the GameCube Resident Evil remake.

Spencer’s plans progress smoothly, until Marcus returns from the dead,[24] and begins to seek revenge with the help of his test subjects. Marcus destroys one of Spencer’s luxury trains, and causes a viral outbreak in the Arklay Research Facility.[25] Anticipating trouble, Spencer dispatches his loyal enforcer, Sergei Vladimir, to recover Umbrella's promising Talos prototype before the facility's destruction. The outbreak spreads throughout the region, sparking the events of Resident Evil Zero and the original Resident Evil. The virus subsequently spreads to Raccoon City during the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3, prompting the US government to contain the outbreak by ordering the destruction of the city.[26]

After the city's destruction, Spencer attempts to disguise the incident as a government conspiracy by hiring top lawyers and false witnesses. His actions prolong the legal proceedings, and allows the Umbrella Corporation to stay afloat for five more years. Ultimately, Wesker betrays Spencer by handing over secret documents to the US government.[27] Wesker seals Spencer's doom by personally testifying against him in court. Umbrella's business license is summarily suspended, and the US government works swiftly to dismantle the remains of the organization.[28] Spencer himself remains at large, vanishing after Umbrella's public fall from grace.

I caught some of the gameplay. Looked pretty cool. Kind of funny they pussied out and decided to add white zombies. I think I saw a Leonardo Di Caprio looking villain, so I guess it's Sou'frika now.

gears 2 - same gfx, same gameplay, all ive seen is how u can move around the map on multiplayer a bit? :S

    whats the point?

fallout 3.....hmmmmm could go either way. im not sure about the criticism of gfx cos it looks pretty good for a pretty large world. But gameplay wise it seems a bit..lacking? and yea mini nuke was a tad small

the games im most interested in (i lack interest in most games these days) is operation flashpoint 2 and dow2.

All the console stuff i couldnt care less about
