mongols never seen

i played the abbasids, and around the 13 century, the mongols arrived, they had war with khwarezm shah, 30 years later, i never seen the mongols although they are the richest faction, they had no settlement, 30 years with no settlement, if i were them, i would have taken a settlement in two turns! also, from my records, the mongols conquered all khwarezm shah, and the shah or sultan fled to the sea, and they were fighting ghazna, almost destroyed it, so where are they?!

The agressiveness of the Mongols does vary.

They're a very flawed game event, but if I recall the BC were trying to up the ante in 1.5.

But major changes with the Mongols will have to wait until 2.0, where they will also get a major reskin coutertsy of Yelu Deshi.

The mongols in my Jerusalem game are ramaging through the northern provinces at an extremely slow rate. The Khwarsmians (sp?) are putting up quite a fight, I sent a spy and a diplomat to check it out, the Khwars can almost match the mongols in stacks...but not quite. The mongols only seem to sack Khwar cities and the Ghazniavids (sp?) come in and pick up the scraps (thus doubling the size of their empire) The Georgians and Omanis are actually much more efficient in killing the Khwars, the Georgians practically took over the entire western side of the Khwar empire before I came in and put a stop to it all.

How so?

Cause tehy are beautiful in that they come in liek overwhelming power that makes you shudder and feel hopeless. It is really immersive however in this game the Mongols arent really that aggressive and dont blitz the hell out of you as they would in real life.

In my game, the Mongols wiped out half the map in no time at all..forgot the years, but it was damn fast.

Yep, basically all of Khwarezm and almost to the Persian Gulf..they sacked and left the first few cities but first settled around Merv I think.

I think basically the Mongols behavior can vary wildly. Any of you play other mods where the Mongols do much better and more consistently?

For 1.05 the key problem is the stack spamming which sort of makes the mongols galactic amount of stacks less spectacular than it should be.

I think that agressivnes of the Mongols depends on the duration of the game.
If you play it for longer then they will be showing up and doing the dammage until they are defeated.
Once in vanilla I played for only 100 somthing turns and Mongols showed up for few turns and then completely disapeared.
I was getting messages that they are advancing on Russia, and that they took over Baghdad. But I personaly never came into touch with them.
even though I had my troops in Syria and then Kiev.

Mongols in my game appeared.... and just disappeared after 10, maybe 20 years! It's because the main power in my game was back in a days concentrated in Rajputs (they actually won the game - achieved game goal in my game), and Samarqand was under their control. When Mongols attacked them, Rajputs actually controlled whole India, nearly whole Persia (double team with Seljuks). Rajputs destroyed both Kwarezm and then Mongols (vassalizing them even for few rounds). I was very frustrated that Mongols was destroyed so easily as I really hoped them to make some power balance in that region. But you know - when Rajputs come with 30+ full stacks... nothing can stop them - and nothing did - they actually conquered whole steppe and they were stopped only by me (KOJ) on Caucasus... (my allies - Georgia at least haven't ended up being vassalized before I could help them - not like those Armenians to the bloodthirsty Kypchaks in my game... damned)
