    Default Fallout 2 Chars

So, I've been hit with Fallout 2 syndrome and have decided to forget myself in the game for around a month.

My biggest 'issue' with the game is differing characters. Usually my characters are goodie-two-shoes with tags: small guns, speech and outdoorsman. The other would be evil bastard with tags: small guns, speech and outdoorsman.

Now, I'm trying to get creative and am making as many differing chars as possible, so far I've got..

An evil tribal. He's got melee weapons, throwing and outdoorsman and massive strength and agility, at the loss of charisma and intelligence. He's gonna be so evil and mindless slaughter will follow in his wake so I can pretty much sum him up as " you!" Oh and I named him Turok

A good diplomat. He'll be into speech, barter and small guns for protection. weak strength and agil, he'll have mostly intelligence and charisma. He's pretty much gonna be a weakling while letting Sulik or Marcus do all the dirty work.

A good/evil sniper. This one is basically small guns, outdoorsman and maybe energy guns or sneak. He's gonna be all about perception and agility, and he's gonna have one nasty headshot. I'm not sure if he's gonna be evil or good though...but I have decided to make him a 'loner' so I'll just dump charisma for more perception or agility, since he's not gonna be a people person and is more likely to blow your face off.

These are all I got, and I also decided to 'handicap' my guys for roleplay value. i.e. my tribal isn't going to be running around in power armor hitting people with little spears, and nor my sniper (unless you can sneak in armor that weighs a ton) which should add some difficulty.

    Anyone else got any ideas?

I always name my FO2 character "Chosen". The dialog just seems to make better sense that way

    BIG GUNS!!1

    They are the bestest!

Although you don't get them until later in the game, so it might be better to use a Tag! perk on them. I would recommend putting a few points in them here and there while you level, so you will be able to use them as soon as you find them. Putting points in before it is tagged doesn't waste them, since tagging a skill doubles its points.

I wish throwing was more useful, it's a cool skill. Anyone know if the Sniper or Slayer perk works with throwing weapons?

I'm pretty sure Slayer is just melee damage, but not sure. No clue about Sniper. I haven't had a big guns char yet, but I did think of just having one with all guns (small, energy, big) and make him utterly ing insane.

    Yeah that sounds fun.

Yay, Fallout 2! I always played some kind of evil bounty-hunter type guy, used to gun down addicts for getting in my way, or just for target practice.

Haha, it's a shame though. They still interpret actions like running through the streets of Reno blowing off whores faces as 'good karma'.

Once I saw a group of them and chucked a grenade in there for kicks. I guess that makes me a good person.

Evil male sex-machine with juiced-up Charisma and Intelligence, Persuasion skill focus, and the Sex Appeal and Karma Sutra perks, etc, named "Cocksman". Recruited all of the NPCs into my gang, even the "wife" character (though she died pretty quickly), and committed every act of depravity, betrayal and wickedness permitted by the game, which is quite a lot. Earned the "Slaver" tag, and the New Reno porn star tag, etc. Murdered the innocent, allied myself with the corrupt and the degenerate. Let everyone else do most of the fighting most of the time, using Energy Weapons when I eventually could.

Ah, good times, don't make many games like this anymore. What was the last game you played where you could tear kiddies to pieces with an Avenger minigun? Prostitute yourself? Become a Junkie?

I love the wanted posters that start to show up around towns, like Modoc. I remember once I read mine and it said something along the lines of "...wanted for mass-slaughter, murder of men and women, murdering children, and slaving." I think it mentioned drugs but not sure.

I only wish combat wasn't so...hard to get out of I guess you could say. I mean, say I killed a guy in a bar, the whole bloody town is charging at me guns blazing.

    @Cluny
    Sounds like a fun idea.

I've been a Fallout 2 junkie for a while, but I can only play through it SO MANY times. Until Fallout 3 I'm going to be sating myself with STALKER and that big mod that makes it an uber game with vehicles and the like.

    What mod is that?

On-topic: I have only played Fallout Tactics, but I want to try Fallout 2. Any big changes between the two games (except for the story ofcourse)?

Fallout 1&2 are actual hardcore RPG's, with decisions and interesting characters. Towns that aren't battlefields and generally a fairly immersive game.

Tactics had 'karma' but it wasn't much of a decision other than whether you blow up something optional to the mission or don't blow it up. Also, most of the skills are important while in tactics they felt...shallow I suppose.
