io.file first with Kingdoms

I usually mod on M2TW and everything is fine with the io.file_first method.

I've now unpacked the Teutonic campaign and was hoping to edit it.

But now I can't find the preferences file for Kingdoms to make the "mymod" CFG file from.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Its the same file as for M2, just edit it and rename iit to fit your mod.

Sorry but I am rubbish at the technical side of things.

What file is the same, and what do I rename?

EDIT: I copied the medieval2.preferences file and saved it as kingdomsmod.cfg, having added the bit at the top.

For the .bat file I typed in:

kingdoms.exe @mymod.cfg

I changed it to kingdoms.exe, and tried to run the .bat file. But it just went to the Medieval II screen and then crashed.

I've no idea how to run Kingdoms doing this...

You have to tell it to look in the cfg file you just created, after all thats why you created it.

kingdoms.exe @kingdomsmod.cfg

Inside the cfg file you put the path to the mod.

Sorry, I typed it in wrongly in the post, that is what I typed into the CFG file.

What I don't get is, if I put the CFG and the .bat file in the main M2TW directory (along with the M2TW mymod CFG and .bat file), how does it even know to run the Teutonic Campaign?

click on bat - calls cfg file - calls directory
