    Hello,

How far to the East will the map extend? I saw a picture, but was hoping that maybe it will extend into India.

Thank you all for your interest!

    @ pieman,

sure, you will have to fight a lot. Battlefield action as well as strategic planning, it's all in the campaigne.

    @ Ethelfref,

there is unfortunatly very little written source material (short bits from various sources like Procopius or Paul the Deacon), while the archaeological record is far from clear. It's hard to tell if a certain grave was indeed Gepid e.g. The unit roster of the Gepids will be less evolved than other's, but will do our best, since the community obviously likes them. Not sure why, but I do respect it.
    (my opinion as researcher)

    @ Silent Ghent,

Currently the map is what it is as outlined on the first page. That's the goal - and trust me, considering the amount of work such a map including its factions, units, coding etc. requires in campaign mode, it's a very ambitious goal as it is.
(my impression, but I am neither coder, modeller, nor mapper...)

Yeah, it wasn't a major religion except maybe in the Sassanid empire...

Even if it was without a Jewish faction the religion would get removed at the most after the first 70 turns as it has no means of coming back

@Nazgul Killer, you mistunderstood there will not be, but for second release we may include a Khazar faction

@Christantius ,Yes that is very possible but will take time, we will see , what DoTS are doing are using a system that uses Tiles, so basicly that map will be the map for granada siege, that may mean many many problems for us, as changing tiles im not sure if it can be done so if theres a script for it, so if the Hun settlement becomes a minor city we dont want it showing a few mudhuts

    You do realise that:
    1. Modders only make a mod that they want.
    2. AUH is just a few subforums up above EOR's and is making a mod about China.
    3. I find that your post is quite rude since modding is very hard to do and you can only appreciate that if you are a modder/ex-modder yourself.
    4. You don't have to even look at this mod never mind post in the subforum if you don't think you'll like it.
    5. If you want a Far Easr mod then make it yourself.

I don't... but that's not to say that i don't want to crush them There are some nations i rarely play but would feel cheated if i couldn't kill them... the english as ireland, the romans and Macedonians as the greeks... the list goes on. All i can add is that Rome will rule the east
Were there but a tree in this godforsaken place i would have hanged myself.

In relgions, theres' no Christanity, which was a major force in the Eastern Roman Empire, if not the most important.

err, Christiniaty is split into Trinitarian and Orthodox(monophysite) and Arianism(Germanic)

The actual map does not go as far as India, so the Göktürk territory is only in parts on the map. But the reason for not making them playable is gameplay, other factions seem more promising and more unique.

hahaha is this the mod understanding from you guys here.

mod start: East of Rome covers the timeframe of 519-700 and has a map stretching from Italy to India and from Egypt to the Steppes.

    Huns (Hunnic Empire) CE.370–469

maybe Gokturks in place of the Huns

    the Gokturks (Gokturk Khaganate) 552–747

Oh, yes, it's a pity that you don't include Gokturk Khanate (or Turkut, like Lev Gumilev said)
