We're currently ironing out the problems with the Roman roster (a preview isn't too far off!), and once this is done, we will turn back to the Sassanids and give them some new units. After that, it'll be the turn of the Ostrogoths.

Meanwhile, work on the map is ongoing from Nakh and I, I am doing family trees, and some basic scripts and traits are being prepared. Good to know?

The map from the most recent preview does not include the Roman province of Africa (modern Tunisia and Algeria). But Belisarius conquered Africa before Sicily or Italy. See Procopius, History of the Wars of Justinian, books 3 and 4.

you could make a campaigh of the ridda wars, aka the wars of apostasy, based in the arabian peninsula, make it similar to the britania campaighn in vanilla but more funner, with new factions, units, and etc, the ridda wars will have you playing as the caliphate under Abu Bakr, with the goal of reclaiming arabia, the apostate tribes in the forms of musaylama's people in al yamamah, tulayha of the bani assad tribe, malik ibn nuwera in najd, yemeni rebels, apostat rebels in oman, and rebels in bahrayn. re assurt the authority of the caliph and religion of islam in arabia or be one of the rebels and change history and conquer arabia for yourself..... just a suggestion, what do you think? i advice also you ask muslim historians about the event because i cant find articles about it except on wikipedia and you know how reliable wikipedia is......... but its an important part of history that ultimatly shaped the caliphate and allowed it to eventually conquer the eastern roman empire and the sassinads... so a campaighn on it would be splendid....

I've got a little problem with the map, beacuse there is no land connection between Libya and the rest of the map. And there is a little piece of Italy maybe you should delte it or make that part bigger. For the rest cool choice of map.

Well J@mes the mapper said that map above is a bit hard to do so i gave him this

so im not sure which one will be the map because hes absent for 2 weeks and said he would get the base map done by when he comes back. Plus i wanted the other map in the first post because then you can colonise Italy and take over Libya easily as anothr faction

The Caucasian Albanians have nothing to do with the Balkan Albanians, they're two different populations, separated in space and time. It's just an interesting common etymology (just like there are several towns of Belgrade etc).

I'd like to see more of Italy personally. I like the look of this mod so if you don't add Italy then maybe I'll add it for myself.

Well we will consider it but by adding Italy we must add the Western Roman Empire and some other factions which result in alot more work when they only have a few settlements on map

they could be an non playable faction and begin as vassal of ERE!!

No don't add Italy I say go more into the steppes of more of Africa and a faction there that could fight the ERE

  19. #19

    Default Re: -East of Rome-

Well more into the steppes seems stupid because at the time only the Huns were there , going more south is a good idea although if we go all the way down to the bottom of Arabia in southness only 3 factions would exsist in Africa , Kingdom of Makuria(i think), KIngdom of Axum(i think) and the ERE, on the other hand if we went more south we could add Ghassanids and Lakhimids and we could go a bit more East to add in a sort of Indian faction.

Also although the Avars were recorded first in the mid 6th century this mod will have them in 6oo on the East of the Map so they dont start in the Balkans

A bit running ahead of things but when you (possibly-hopefully) port it to Kingdoms wouldn't that enable you to use permanent forst and place these on the map? Would give some great extra punch to the game.

Anyways... this mod sounds sweet so the best of luck!
