    Default Most balanced military?

The militaries of the various factions in Medieval II may all have their strengths and weaknesses, but a balanced military could be very useful for conquest. Which faction, do you think, has the most balanced military throughout the entire Grand Campaign?

    Thank You!

further more, good spears, good heavy inf, good cav, decent archers (crossbows), they're just good overall very balanced. if you don't mind the starting position exact center of Europe or less late period units than a few other Euro factions they're very good.

England comes to mind. Good heavy infantry (Armored Swordsmen), good shock troops (Dismounted English Knights), good knights (English Knights), good light cavalry (Hobilars and Demi Lancers), and of course good Longbowmen. Also, decent navy and artillery. They have just about everything covered, although they're lacking a bit in the spear department, however in most cases the longbowmen stakes take care of cavalry fairly well.

This is just off the top of my head though, I might be missing something.

France is pretty good all round; strong cavalry and infantry, but the archers aren't anything great.

Once you get the Scotīs Guards and their elite crossbows theyīre strong enough in the missile department. Their Voulgiers, if slow, are very versatile, capable of fighting both infantry and cavalry and the French advanced cavalry (Gendarmes and Lancers) are among the best heavy cavalry around. And if thatīs not enough, they also get the professional pikemen, not pike militia. In my opinion France has the most complete unit roster, and for all time periods, too.
