    Default Gold edition

Hi I'm trying to install this mod but and I have gold edition which I was told is already patched up to scratch but it says I have the wrong version of rome. It also says that Rome.exe doesn't exist when I try to install the mod into programmefiles/activision/rometotalwar, am I doing something wrong?

Well, first thing is to check your version of Rome, which can be found in the top right corner in-game in the options menu. If its 1.5 or 1.6 (for BI) then your good.

I had your problem with it not finding the exe. To fix it, just re-install.

I have the Gold Edition DVD too, and I use this path: Program Files / The Creative Assembly/ Rome - Total War. Maybe you should try this?

Sounds like you are installing to the wrong location. The installer checks the windows registry to find the location of the RTW folder, but sometimes the location stored in the registry is incorrect (can happen if you have installed more than once to different locations, or if you have installed from different versions).

The easiest way to check for the correct location is to start the original game from the desktop icon (just to make sure it works ) and then right click on the desktop icon and select 'properties'. The line labeled 'Start in' shows the folder where the game is installed, and that's the folder you should point the XGM installer to.

Right, I solved the installation problem, (it was the long location lol) so I run the mod and try to start a Baktrian campaign but the game takes me back to the histarical campaign, grand campaign etc screen. When I closed rome there was an error message saying there was a map error. What can I do to solve this?

    Sorry to bug you lol.

Did you get an error message when you quit out of the game? This is probably the result of a bad install, or the wrong version of RTW. You might want to check your version number by starting the game and going to the options menu. The version number will be in the top right corner (should be 1.5, 1.6, or 1.9, depending on whether you have BI and Alex installed).

This is what the error message said:

    Script error in

    xgm/data/world/maps/campaign/briton/barbarian_invasion/descr_regions.txt

    at line 17, column 17.

Unrecognised: "briton" as region rescourse class (or hidden rescource).

I did get a massage saying that my version of rome is wrong but it is 1.5 and1.6 for BI. Im just a bit frustrated with this comp lol because I know this mod is awsome.
