I love planning custom battles in Medieval II. You can strive for historical accuracy or create a very farfetched engagement. What do you think about the game's custom battle creator?

I use it to test units and factions mostly.
Agreed. I find I can never really play one, as I always give myself a huge advantage over then enemy army. For example, when I played RTW, I played a lot with full armies of elephants VS full armies of peasents lol.I use it to test units and factions mostly.
I usually just use it to test factions and units, basically how do units stack up against eachother, but I think that historical accuracy is heightened by mods. Mod custom battles are pretty cool. I don't generally play custom battles often, however, because I'm more into the strategical parts of the TW series.
(yeah, I love the battles, but I like to think of TW as my own personal Risk game without all the annying figurines)
I love the Custom Battle tool.
It has taught me a ton and since you can just refight the same battle time after time you can really get a feel for how things work.
for 2 reasons:
to test tactics
to realieve stress(full stacked goth knights in a big wedge vs azabs + stress gone)
Energy = Mass * Charge squared
