Disbanded units and to exterminate a city or not...

Hmm, do any mods change this? Maybe I dreamed it ( lol ) but when I disbanded units in RTW I'm sure they joined the towns population. They don't in MTW2. Which leaves me at a little problem. I'm just taking Damascus from the Egyptians, who declared war on me yet again. Heh. However due to massive Religious unrest, I cannot simply occupy or sack the city. However if I exterminate it's population it will take far too long to regrow and since I can't migrate large cheap units and boost it's population it's not very desirable....ideas?

Cheating defeats the point of playing. I guess I'll try spamming priests there to get the religion "under control".

Note how I was talking about extermination, because the unrest is -massive- and even extermination still leaves them rebellious.

i had cairo region on 25% catholic and got it to 74% in one turn by haviong two 10 piety cardinals and 3 average priest in the region. So priest is and easy way to do it if they're good.

Yeah I think that's what I'll have to do, It's actually like 0% catholic at the moment lol.

Wait you didn't bring any priests into the region at all? You broke one of the main rules of conquering, always convert first. When I said sack I thought you had a small conversion rate like 5% but you didn't even have that.
