skin on body does not display

Hi i tried to add skin to this 3d image but only the head and weapon has a skin but not the body. does anyone know how to add skin to the body??
I notice that the body does not link to the bone at all

That's where skinning comes in.
I'm not sure about moddeling and if you can make it with 3dsMax but you should look at some tutorials on skinning. But then agin if your making it for a model some might be differnt....:hmmm: Can someone else help out? I'm confused.

Select the model and type m to access the material editor, then 'assign to model'. Then check out the tutorial section of these forums.
