Default TWC American Fantasy Football League - 2008

    Week 1 Matchups:

    Justinian - Justinian Imperials (0-1): 77.36
    Hotspur - Highland Nobles (1-0): 98.40
Despite great games by Matt Forte and Jay Cutler, the rest of the Imperials can't capitalize while the Nobles cruise to a win.

    hungry_hungary - Khan's warriors (1-0): 71.78
    BarnabyJones - Murphy's law (0-1): 51.36
Barnaby gets two players with sub 1-point days and the warriors get solid outings from their RBs.

    Arrington - ASU Sundevils (1-0): 104.22
    JP226 - Seminoles (0-1): 65.04
The Sundevils start the season with 7 TDs while the 'Noles waste a 220 yard, 2 TD effort by Michael Turner when none of his other starters can find the endzone. Then Brady got hurt...

    ajm317 - ajm317's Team (1-0): 79.68
Publius Clodius Pulcher - Arlington Alcoholics (0-1): 78.84
ajm gets a solid start as six of his positions put up 10 or more points. Donovan F. McNabb's herculean 361 yard, 3 TD day keeps it close for the Alcoholics, but AP comes 10 yards short of an upset.

    CaesarCS - Legion (0-1): 69.60
Scipio Afracanis - Nalo Country Boyz (1-0): 102.92
Reggie Bush and Marion Barber combine for 264 all-purpose yards and 3 TDs to anchor the Boyz while the Legion can only muster three TD as a team.

    Joker85 - Miniditkas (0-1): 68.82
    Flavius - Downtown Mob (1-0): 69.08
Scheffler drops a pass in the endzone on Monday night and drops the Miniditkas comeback as well.

    Shyam Popat - Popat Parrots (0-1): 62.70
    vizigothe - Snickers Vikings (1-0): 99.46
The Vikings cruise behind Willie Parker's 3 and Brian Westbrook's 2 TDs, as well as John Kasey's foot, while the Parrots appear to be asleep at the wheel.

    Kishikami - Sleeping Forest (1-0): 80.66
    Kanaric - Cobra Kai Dojo (0-1): 53.96
Cobra Kai starts Willis McGahee, who didn't play, and sits Sammy Morris, who had 89 yards and a TD, making for a painful lesson in game-time news.

    Week 2 Matchups:

    Hotspur - Highland Nobles (1-0): 95.88
    hungry_hungary - Khan's warriors (1-0): 51.84
The warriors get 1 TD but suffer 3 turnovers while Romo on Monday Night to run up the score.

    Justinian - Justinian Imperials (0-1): 99.90
    Kishikami - Sleeping Forest (1-0): 81.50
Improbably, the Imperials sit Rodgers for Cutler and the football gods reward Justy with his first win.

    Arrington - ASU Sundevils (1-0): 91.64
    BarnabyJones - Murphy's law (0-1): 116.18
What was a close game early gets blown open by Philip Rivers (377 yards passing, 3 TDs) and the Green Bay D (2 TDs, 5 sacks, 3 INTs).

    ajm317 - ajm317's Team (1-0): 50.14
    JP226 - Seminoles (0-1): 41.70
ajm squeeks out a win when the 'Noles fail to substitute a defense when the Ravens/Texans game is postponed.

    CaesarCS - Legion (0-1): 62.36
Publius Clodius Pulcher - Arlington Alcoholics (0-1): 94.00
The Alcoholics cruise to a win as the Legion racks up yardage but no TDs.

    Joker85 - Miniditkas (0-1): 119.08
Scipio Afracanis - Nalo Country Boyz (1-0): 143.14
What should've been a blowout for the Boyz behind Calvin Johnson (129 yards, 2 TDs) and Santana Moss (191 yards, 1 TD) tightened up with all but 2 positions scoring at least 10 points for the Miniditkas and Anquan Bolden's 140 yard, 3 TD day. The Boyz find paydirt on Monday night as Marion Barber (114 yards, 2 TDs) and Jason Witten (110 yards) light up the highest scoring game and matchup to date..

    Shyam Popat - Popat Parrots (0-1): 85.90
    Flavius - Downtown Mob (1-0): 88.84
The Mob sneak past the absentee owned Parrots with a resurgent Kurt Warner (361 yards, 3 TDs).

    Kanaric - Cobra Kai Dojo (0-1): 55.44
    vizigothe - Snickers Vikings (1-0): 100.64
The Vikings loot and pillage behind Brian Westbrook's 3 TDs on Monday night against potentially another absentee owner.

    Week 3 Matchups:

    Hotspur - Highland Nobles (2-0): 72.90
    Arrington - ASU Sundevils (1-1): 90.14
The Noble's get hammered by the Philly D (9 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 safety, 1 INT) and then torched by Drew Brees' 421 passing yards.

    Justinian - Justinian Imperials (1-1): 121.76
    hungry_hungary - Khan's warriors (1-1): 61.64
Despite a great day for the Baltimore D (5 sacks, 3 INTs, 1 TD), the warriors get doubled up by an Imperials team that only scored 3 TDs but put up an insane 919 yards of offense.

    ajm317 - ajm317's Team (2-0): 60.74
    BarnabyJones - Murphy's law (1-1): 117.10
L.T. finally returns to form (87 yards, 2 TDs) for ajm, but Frank Gore has a better day (162 Yards, 1 TD) for the Murphs. Philip Rivers (250 yards, 3 TDs) doesn't have to face the Philly D that Big Ben (2 fumbles, 1 INT) did and the Murphs win with 6 players scoring at least 10 points.

    CaesarCS - Legion (0-2): 61.28
    JP226 - Seminoles (0-2): 76.34
Matt Cassel's less than stellar day (136 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 1 fumble) for the 'Noles is made up for by Michael Turner's more than stellar 103 yards and 3 TDs, giving them their first win.

    Joker85 - Miniditkas (0-2): 126.42
Publius Clodius Pulcher - Arlington Alcoholics (1-1): 78.94
Last week it was Anquan Bolden with the huge day for the Ditkas. This week, Ronnie Brown single-handedly demolishes New England with 141 all-purpose yards and 5 TDs, including 19 passing yards and a passing TD.

    Shyam Popat - Popat Parrots (0-2): 113.48
Scipio Afracanis - Nalo Country Boyz (2-0): 120.52
Despite having 4 players score more than 19 points each, the Parrots are sunk by a lack quality QBs as David Garrard throws a pick but no touchdowns.

    Kanaric - Cobra Kai Dojo (0-2): 86.24
    Flavius - Downtown Mob (2-0): 84.78
A close game that came down to the Mob starting Ahmad Bradshaw (7 yards) over Chester Taylor (66 yards).

    Kishikami - Sleeping Forest (1-1): 40.96
    vizigothe - Snickers Vikings (2-0): 55.94
In a game in which 5 teams outscored the combined total of the Vikings and Forest, the difference came down to Fred Taylor's good day (130 yards) and the New England D's horrible day (38 points allowed).

    Week 4 Matchups:

    Hotspur - Highland Nobles (2-1): 115.10
    ajm317 - ajm317's Team (2-1): 109.50
A tense game that came down to a 4th and goal from the 1. The Bears D held and so did the Nobles.

    Justinian - Justinian Imperials (2-1): 111.44
    Arrington - ASU Sundevils (2-1): 121.12
A come from behind win for the Sundevils engineered by DeShaun Jackson's 106 yards and a touchdown.

    hungry_hungary - Khan's warriors (1-2): 99.68
    Kishikami - Sleeping Forest (1-2): 41.98
An easy victory for the warriors when the Forest leave three bye weeks positions open.

    CaesarCS - Legion (0-3): 77.98
    BarnabyJones - Murphy's law (2-1): 84.30
Ryan Grant has a dismal day against the Tampa Bay D, saddling the Legion with negative points (16 yards, 1 fumble) and yet another loss.

    Joker85 - Miniditkas (1-2): 80.10
    JP226 - Seminoles (1-2): 64.36
For the third week in a row, the ditkas benefit from a huge performance from one of their players. Despite two open bye holes and Marc Bulger not starting, Larry Johnson's 198 yards and 2 TDs knock off the 'Noles.

    Shyam Popat - Popat Parrots (0-3): 55.14
    Publius ClodiusPulcher - Arlington Alcoholics (1-2): 69.38
A gimme game against a team with 3 bye-week holes and a non-starter that was much closer than it should've been.

    Kanaric - Cobra Kai Dojo (1-2): 76.56
Scipio Afracanis - Nalo Country Boyz (3-0): 83.44
McGahee gets hurt and Le'Ron McClain gets the yards and touchdown that would've given the Dojo a monster come from behind win.

    vizigothe - Snickers Vikings (3-0): 43.02
    Flavius - Downtown Mob (2-1): 54.38
The Mob manage to loot and pillage the Vikings despite missing a wide reciever, a running back and a defense.

    Week 5 Matchups

    Hotspur - Highland Nobles (3-1): 98.74
    CaesarCS - Legion (0-4): 67.50
The Nobles get early points behind DeAngelo Williams' career best (148 all-purpose yards, 3 TDs) and never look back.

    Justinian - Justinian Imperials (2-2): 105.78
    ajm317 - ajm317's Team (2-2): 76.82
The Imperials continue to rack up the points with their potent WR corps (268 yards, 3 TDs) while LT continues to disappoint ajm.

    hungry_hungary - Khan's warriors (2-2): 73.28
    Arrington - ASU Sundevils (3-1): 78.10
Drew Brees' good (330 yards 1 TD) outweighs the bad (2 INTs, 1 fumble) as the Sundevils complete the comeback.

    Joker85 - Miniditkas (2-2): 59.50
    BarnabyJones - Murphy's law (3-1): 72.16
LeRon McClain continues to steal fantasy points from McGahee while the ditkas throw away a win by leaving in a bye week Marc Bulger over Jake Delhomme (236 yards, 2 TDs).

    Shyam Popat - Popat Parrots (0-4): 83.50
    JP226 - Seminoles (1-3): 45.02
The autopilot Parrots finally win one over a 'Nole team with two bye week gaps and a negative points TE.

    Kanaric - Cobra Kai Dojo (1-3): 103.36
    Publius ClodiusPulcher - Arlington Alcoholics (2-2): 55.24
The Cobra Kai finally sweep the leg behind a devastating air attack (172 yards, 4 TDs) and Kyle Orton's demolition of the Lions (334 yards, 2 TDs)

    vizigothe - Snickers Vikings (3-1): 67.16
Scipio Afracanis - Nalo Country Boyz (4-0): 95.64
The Vikings get clobbered by Reggie Bush's two punt return touchdowns and crushed by the Minnesota D (1 TD, 1 sack, 2 INTs, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 blocked kick).

    Flavius - Downtown Mob (3-1): 78.00
    Kishikami - Sleeping Forest (1-3): 91.58
The Forest breaks out the riot gear against the Mob as they benefit from 44 points by the New York football Giants behind Eli Manning (267 yards, 2 TDs) and the football Frankenstein that is Brandon Jacobs (145 all-purpose yards, 2 TDs).

    Week 6 Matchups

    Hotspur - Highland Nobles (4-1): 104.74
    Joker85 - Miniditkas (2-3): 53.84
A gimme win because of 4 bye week/non-starter holes that wastes 20+ points each from Clinton Portis, Tony Romo and the Tampa D.

    Justinian - Justinian Imperials (3-2): 90.38
    CaesarCS - Legion (0-5): 75.54
Another solid game by the Imperials with five players putting up double digits while the Legion continue to have running back problems.

    hungry_hungary - Khan's warriors (2-3): 112.94
    ajm317 - ajm317's Team (2-3): 81.52
LT continues to disappoint while Peyton finally looks like Peyton.

    Arrington - ASU Sundevils (4-1): 99.80
    Kishikami - Sleeping Forest (2-3): 80.54
The Forest manage to close most of a fifty point gap but Jamal Lewis seals the deal for the Sundevils.

    Shyam Popat - Popat Parrots (1-4): 61.84
    BarnabyJones - Murphy's law (4-1): 90.54
Another gimmie game that saw Correll Buckhalter put up 186 all-purpose yards and a TD.

    Kanaric - Cobra Kai Dojo (2-3): 48.66
    JP226 - Seminoles (1-4): 26.82
The Dojo only manage 5.4 points per player but still win against a rudderless 'Noles.

    vizigothe - Snickers Vikings (3-2): 63.50
    Publius ClodiusPulcher - Arlington Alcoholics (2-3): 82.80
The Vikings' one ray of hope is Derek Anderson, who cannot overcome an otherwise dismal day.

    Flavius - Downtown Mob (3-2): 57.14
Scipio Afracanis - Nalo Country Boyz (5-0): 102.32
The Boyz continue to pummel anybody in their path by averaging 108 points per game.

    Week 7 Matchups

    Hotspur - Highland Nobles (5-1): 75.90
    Shyam Popat - Popat Parrots (1-5): 62.20
The Nobles have their lowest output of the year with two players putting up donuts and Romo not playing but still manage a win against the autopiloted Parrots.

    Justinian - Justinian Imperials (4-2): 96.92
    Joker85 - Miniditkas (2-4): 44.32
The Miniditkas appear to be another team coasting, while the Imperials continue to rack up points.

    hungry_hungary - Khan's warriors (3-3): 124.86
    CaesarCS - Legion (0-6): 68.02
The Legion have become this year's Naptown's Finest.

    Arrington - ASU Sundevils (5-1): 95.94
    ajm317 - ajm317's Team (2-4): 85.64
The Sundevils edge past ajm's team who continue to suffer with a disappointing LT.

    Kanaric - Cobra Kai Dojo (3-3): 91.88
    BarnabyJones - Murphy's law (5-1): 37.62
Frank Gore and LeRon McClain combine for 87 total yards while the New Orleans D gives up 30 points to the Panthers, dooming the Murph's.

    vizigothe - Snickers Vikings (3-3): 57.14
    JP226 - Seminoles (1-5): 58.50
The Vikings fall by the slimmest of margins - 27 passing yards by Matt Cassel.

    Flavius - Downtown Mob (3-3): 67.20
    Publius ClodiusPulcher - Arlington Alcoholics (3-3): 121.40
The combo of AP and LenDale White rush for 270 yards and five TDs for the Alcoholics in a blowout.

Sign me up. I plan to be amazingly mediocre and then barely make the playoffs as the last seed and then beat the best team in the first round of the playoffs...I always seem to do that...

I would suggest picking up Reggie Wayne as a primary receiver. He is turning into the best receiver in the NFL, even had more yards than Moss last season despite the fact that the Colts are a classy team and don't throw 80 yard bombs to him when up by thirty.

So for the 1st round pick in the draft(I assume you can picky any player) you would want a QB?
(Say your like 8th to pick)

If so would Derrick Anderson be a good pick?(After:Brady,Manning,Palmer,Romo,Big Ben,Brees)
