help with m2tw gold edition vista

I have all the needed system requirments, I installed the game but when i try to play i double click and then get M2tw has encountred an unspecified error and is closing.

Then it is an install problem. Uninstall and reinstall the game. Something got corrupted.
What are your computer specs?

500Gig free space
Processor Q666 2.4 Ghz 2.39Ghz

It still doesn't work, Do i need to be connected to the internet for it to work?

No, you don't need to be connected to the internet unless you're playing online. What do you have running when you are installing? Background programs foul up more installs thatn anything else. Do you have the disc in the drive when you click the icon? What does your system.log.txt show?

I have just unisntalled but it said somethinjg about americas campaign preferences key.dat missing or something like that.

That will do it. It's one of the files it needs to load the game. Are you using the launcher or the seperate Kingdoms campaign icons?
