Help! Cannot read MTW2 disc!

Okay, so I picked up MTW2 gold at Target the other day. I pop the disc in to install it, and I get nothing. The drive spins up, spins down, spins up, spins down, and I get the little CD mouse pointer thing telling me that it's trying to read the disc. After trying to read it for a while, it just kind of gives up. So I go to my computer (Windows XP, mind you) and it acts like I don't have a disc in the drive at all. My drive just shows up as "DVD-RW Drive" and if I click on it it just tells me to insert a disc. Sometimes when I pop it in, it does eventually read the disc after a while (the label comes up, and I can see the files), but I can't access anything.

So I went and tried it on another computer and I get basically the same thing. I submitted a ticket with Sega's support thing, but I'm not getting any help there.

It sounds to me like I have a bad disc. Anybody have any thoughts? I'd take it back to Target to exchange it, but I threw away the receipt, and that particular Target doesn't even have another copy on the shelves.

By your description, there is definiately something wrong with the disc. Unfortunately, Sega will likely just tell you to take the game back to the place of purchase.

You can try to carefully clean the disc to see if that helps the situation.

Your best chance is Sega support. It may take a while.

I'd recommend you take the game back to where you purchased it, should be quicker and most reasonable stores will exchange your copy with a working one.
