    Default rearranging your stacks

how do you rearrange your stacks of armies? i try to move around the individual units in the stack but they just revert to the same position... i would like to group infantyr archers and cav instead of having them scattered throughout the stack..

In battle you can select all units of one type and group them using ctrl + #. If you ungroup them afterwards they will be placed together at the end of the list. I usually do this when I want to be able to easily find my soldiers but don't want them to stay in rigid formation.

On the campaign map I'm not sure there's any easy way of doing it. The only way I know is to have your soldiers step away from the army, then rejoin again.

    OR!

In the campaign map, select your general, move him about 1 movement point away, then for example CTRL+Click all of your Knights, move them with the general, then your archers, then infantry etc etc.

Thats how you do out while not in a battle.

Wish there was a more elegant way, but that is the way I do it.

    I don't know if I remeber correctly but ...

When you select units of a stack by using CTRL+ and merge the chosen group into another stack or a city, the group arrives ordered according to the sequence of selecting the units.

Perhaps this works as well for moving a stack ... should be worth a try.
