The Scots have world domination of the Irish and Scotch whiskey production as well as most of the supurb French wine country, and what looks like the Mosel (ummm, Piesporter Goldtrupfchen. Sorry I forgot how to make an umlaut on this yankee 'puter.)

Of course there is the overall amount of provinces controlled, but that doesn't matter until you have conquered the "target provinces" that are listed in the Campaign Selection screen (like "Jerusalem" for all Catholics) and the respective status screen in-game.
As the Scots have conquered the entire British Isles, they most likely conquered some "target provinces" because England is their main enemy. They haven't conquered Jerusalem as you're obviously in control (so they can't have finished completely) there but still, it could be that the Scots conquered more "target provinces" than you have done - which gets them closer to victory than you.

I wonder how this victory came to pass though as you obviously have not reached the end of the game (being only at the beginning of the 13th century) which would be required for them to win (as they haven't finished yet because they don't control Jerusalem).
