    Default Hindu/Bhuddist view on afterlife.

One day this world is going to end. And while Jews, Muslims and Christians will be in heaven and Jannah while this happens, what about Hindus and Bhuddists? They beleive in reincarnation, but they won't be able to if there isn't anything to be reborn on. Or do they beleive that they can be reincarnated at times in the past?
    Rep is customary, sir.

They could be reincarnated in another sphere of existence entirely, such as Asurya or Naraka.

Or as aliens on other worlds. What makes you think people only reincarnate as human? They can reincarnate as a baser animal or as a woman on Earth if they led an impure life, so why not as an alien elsewhere entirely?

I fear that is the case; but that would necessitate a universal consciousness in my mind--- and if it is the case; I too pray for the darkness of escape rather than the infinite repitition of existence.

from what ive learned, life is pretty much hell, and only through doing good stuff can you achieve freedom. for hindus, its union with primordial...stuff...known as brahman, and for buddhists, its just nirvana. neither are defined very well

Existence in any form is suffering. Buddhist afterlife is an oxymoron because you can be in bliss as a higher form (a god for example) but still be suffering under existence and the cycle of rebirth. Only when you cease to exist and cease to be reborn are you truly free (but to what consciousness does that freedom attach to? who knows). Therefore, there is no Buddhist afterlife, per se. Afterlife - the continuity of one's self without the human form - is a rather optimistic and inherently childish wish.

There are many forms of opinion as to whether life after death exists, or alternatively what form existance after death takes in buddhism, I wouldn't like to say one way or the other which is the correct view though I could give you my opinion.

In Hinduism, everything is cyclical, including the universe. That is, just as a person is born, lives, dies, and is reborn, so too is the universe constantly created, existant, destroyed, and re-created. Thus, there is always an existence in which to be reborn.

that isnt necessarily true, there is an escape route by doing your dharma, or duty, then you can achieve an immortality as freedom from life
