Game lags when I go into battle mode

Alright so, in MTW2 whenever I go into a battle, the game lags fairly bad. My computer is about 2 months old, running Vista and has 3.00 GB of memory. I have several other games on here and graphics are top notch, but the problem is that this game's battle sequence just lags badly. I do have MTW2K. The odd thing though is that I can run Rome: Total War (or Barbarian Invasion) on battle mode with no lag and the graphics are good.

I've turned the graphic detail all to low except for unit detail, which is on medium. It helped, but not that much. It still runs fairly slow.

My graphic card is a "Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family" and as I said I run on a Vista. I have never modified the game on my own accord (I do have patches 1.1-1.3 though, and Kingdoms)

Though as I said, it works perfectly fine in Rome: Total War but not in Medieval. I hope I gave enough info for you guys to help!

I think it's your graphics card that's your problem. I had an integrated card on my old computer, and it could play Rome excellently, but then it couldn't play Med2 without extreme lag, even with all the settings down.

Onboard graphics sets are not made for 3d games. If you have a pcie slot, you need to buy a good graphics card. If you have a laptop, almost all laptops don't have such expansion slots.

My game can play plenty of 3D games fine.. but I fixed the lag by taking shadows off, it really helped. Yes as it turns out my graphics card can't be removed but I can make due even if it is a little choppy.

Graphics card are very cheap now adays, Friday I'm picking up a 8800GT and I cant farking wait!!!

I'm actually running MTW on a 7300GT right now, It actually runs it fine even though people say 7300 GT's are poop. lol

Integrated graphics are usually not very good for gaming (unless you shell out *alot* of cash). I'm assuming you're running on a laptop so upgrading it would be costly if even possible. My advice is, play games on a desktop and do normal office-type computing on a laptop. Personally I can't understand why people even buy laptops and expect them to have the same capabilities as a desktop.
