Icon5 Can Rome Be United As One?

I was wondering if The House Holds could be eliminated and all become SPQR territory. But also I'd like to reassign the Senate colors to the Julii colors. More over I wish to have no senate mission but still have the senate itself. also I wish to keep all the characters that are in the other families as part of my faction. Can this be made possible through modding?

If you go into the Descr_strat file and assign all the other factions' starting cities, characters and armies to the Julii then it is technically possible. If you're also that particular, you could simply rename the Julii faction S.P.Q.R and rename S.P.Q.R to something else.

I'm not a proper modder, someone may have a better idea, but that's how I'd try it, remember to backup the original file!

Will this work for Rome 1.5 without down grading it?:hmmm:

Probably not, as there were definitely changes from 1.3 to 1.5.

I did the same thing you want to do, but without Senate missions. Here's what to do:

    1) First, search your data folder for any instances of "House of Julii" (make sure it's case sensitive) and change it to "Rome" or "SPQR". This is only aesthetic, but it makes more sense in-game if there are no other houses.

    2) Go to descr_strat. Copy and paste the Brutii, Scipii, and SPQR cities under the Julii's original cities, making sure to keep spacing between lines the same. Do the same for characters, character records, and relatives.

    3) Delete the remaining code for the SPQR. This is very important, otherwise your game will crash.

    4) Also aesthetic, but you may want to Photoshop a new map for the Julii showing all of Italy and your corner of Sicily being controlled. This is the map_romans_julii file.

This should work, but you won't have senate missions. During testing my modifications I was able to have missions with no physical senate, but I can't remember how.

Does it still have senate positions?
