If you want to judge a forum by the amount of changed opinions, you could close them all.
People change their mind only in rare cases and if they do, they won't admit it but tell you that it was their stance from the very beginning.
Thats something you have to live with even if its sometimes hard.
My moral standing have not changed as a result of TWC, they have been changing on their own for about a year, but that's independant of TWC.
The most positive thing I can take from EMM are the invalauble things I learn here about other religions.
several ideas of mine have changed due to TWC but my religion remains absolutely the same as it was when I arrived.
ok just asking
Mine has not been utterly changed on this or any forum, but my thoughts and beliefs have been greatly refined through debate.
I'm with Vilhjalmr. No widespread complete change or reversal, but I've learned a lot. Put simply, my opinion does not often change; how I explain my opinion does.
That's not to say that I haven't changed my mind, there are things that I have switched on. Most often, I thought one way - but once I put up a serious post and explained myself, I found myself arguing for the opposite thing. (Recently, on polygamy.)
For the majority, however, Pommer's Law seems to apply.

I have learnt a lot, this is what I can tell.
"Romans not only easily conquered those who fought by cutting, but mocked them too. For the cut, even delivered with force, frequently does not kill, when the vital parts are protected by equipment and bone. On the contrary, a point brought to bear is fatal at two inches; for it is necessary that whatever vital parts it penetrates, it is immersed. Next, when a cut is delivered, the right arm and flank are exposed. However, the point is delivered with the cover of the body and wounds the enemy before he sees it."
- Flavius Vegetius Renatus (in Epitoma Rei Militari, ca. 390)
I'm always right, even when i'm wrong i'm right.
Quem faz injúria vil e sem razão,Com forças e poder em que está posto,Não vence; que a vitória verdadeira É saber ter justiça nua e inteira-He who, solely to oppress,Employs or martial force, or power, achieves No victory; but a true victory Is gained, when justice triumphs and prevails.

Truth in whatever form, is always truth. To date in this forum I've found nothing to convince me to change my beliefs of the truths I know.

Ideas are not static unless you confine yourself to a predetermined set of beliefs and purposefully block out and ignore everything else in the world. A shameful way to live your life, indeed.
My ideas on the world around me subtly change with every instance of perception I have, including dreams. So yes, EMM has had an impact on my philosophical ideas
Sharing and debating various ideas on the internet is a great form of entertainment and mind-expansion![]()
My morals are changing all the time.
But no this forum hasn't changed much of them at all.
We will find a way, or we will make one
