    Default Time between releases

What's the average amount of time between XGM version releases?:hmmm:

I'm just curious because it seems like everytime I download the newest version of my favorite mod, there's a newer version already out seemingly within a few weeks.

It just depends. Sometimes Dime goes on a modding bent and releases, like, three versions in as many days; other times he is satisfied (temporarily) with how XGM is, or is otherwise occupied, and doesn't release a new version for a week or longer.

On average, I'd say he releases a new version once a week to every other week.

Expand your borders, a mod based on XGM 5.

It's hard to say. Historically there have been periods where he released a new version every day, some times there wasn't a new version in a month. Generally though, soon after a big release (5.x) there are usually quite a few releases soon after and they slowly dry up until another big release comes out.

That's my interpretation of how it goes, anyway

That sounds about right... But remember, most of those releases don't break save-game compatibility, so its really a good thing for lots of releases. You can still play your save games from before with the new features/bug fixes.

I prefer the release early and release often approach. I try to fix bugs and make the fixes available immediately, which is why there is often a flurry of new versions after a bigger release. I also try to aim for small discrete feature improvements that I can finish and release within a week or two.

I've found that's a good way to avoid getting lost in ambitious plans that never get completed.

    Sounds reasonable indeed.
