    Default HRE obedient/disobedient problems.

    Evening all,

I'm guessing the 'obedient/disobedient to my liege' trait line is singularly for the HRE empire? but having played the Danes for the last week i have never seen it until i begin a HRE campaign.

Is there anyway way to counter/cure it it or remove it all together?
I've had a quick scan through the traits files but i dont really know what i'm looking for.

I dont want to have to suicide generals who get it as that seems a bit naff but if thats the only way then i'd rather not have it at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's a negative ghostrider. The emperor Heinrich has the trait "offends the nobility". This is bad, because it causes his vassals (your generals) to choose either to be obedient or disobedient via the triggers and traits. You can make them more loyal by winning heroic victories with the emperor (increasing his authority) and heaping glory and triumph on the realm or let the rebel and kill them.

    Ah..thanks for the reply

I take it that i was wrong in my assumption that this affect only the HRE then.
I just didnt want to continue the campaign until i knew what was happening.I always check my generals traits, just never thought to check the faction leaders.

Is it possible then that a general with the disobedient trait with a high loyalty will remain faithful? or is he always going to be a risk with this trait.

    Many thanks again

Disobedient doesn't necessarily mean they'll rebel, it just lowers their loyalty (amongst a bunch of other negative effects) which increased the chance of rebellion. If they're overall loyalty is low enough and your authority is low enough, the chance of rebellion becomes much higher.

If they get the second level of the disobedient trait, they're pretty much a useless general at that point.

Great Thanks for the clarification IceBeast.

Once they become totally useless what can you do with them bar suiciding them which seems a bit cheap to me.Is it just a case of tucking them away somewhere?

I remember MTW1 where you could assassinate your own generals if they were useless. That would come in pretty handy here

If they get the second level, I'd just suicide em. Their is no assassinate/execute your own general ability, which sucks. But I wouldn't keep them in a city as they have a bunch of negative city effects (Huge hit to law, unrest, squalor and popularity).

    Thanks for the reply.

Oh well if suicide is the only way then i'll have to do it.It will probably take a while though,i can only move them 1 space per turn.

If you be careful you can still get keep disloyal generals in line.

In my last campaign with HRE, my Emperor had offends the nobility and a few generals had zero loyalty, but they didn't rebel or gain any real negative traits. I assume it was either due to me keeping them close to the Emperor or loyal generals or that my Emperor had full authority.
