    Default generals?

How are generals going to work in this mod?

There are many well known characters around that definatly would be functioning as generals in the game, but they would need their unique appearance to be represented properly. would they work the same as heroes in kingdoms?

Also, what would the common generals look like? what would their bodyguards be?

I am guessing Rohan would get some elite rohirim as bodyguards, and the general would wear the same armor as Gamling, probably with a helmet.

For Gondor I suppose it would sort of be like when Faramir rides out to Osgiliath. They might need to be called captains instead of generals though, that might be more accurate.

I havent seen other races use any mounted troops that could function as bodyguards in the movies, didnt read the books though.

I am guessing that for Isengard a group similar to that of Lurtz with a tougher looking Uruk like Lurtz leading them would be the best.

They would be foot troops though, but to compensate they could have great stamina, have exellent moving speed, great morale and could also have greater numbers than a standard bodyguard unit.

    Dale - Elite ELITE bowmen.

Elves - I would say very strong spearmen with good armour and speed.

    Gondor - Horses sound fine.

Mordor - A bodyguard of trolls? Then again the Nazgul don't really need backup...

Eriador - The Grey Company had horses so I would say cavalry.

Goblins - Elite warg riders, or something similar to the bodyguard of Bolg which is described in The Hobbit.

    Isengard - Big orcs.

    Rhun - Cavalry.

Harad - Cavalry or Mumakil, I think cavalry personally. The Mumakil seemed to be pack animals outside of the War of the Ring.

It was for High Elves. I don't believe they use same with Silvan Elve since it's quite hard to ride in deep forest.

I'd say Silvan Elves should have Galadhrim Sentinels, hybrid unit which you saw in Battle of Helm's Deep in The Two Towers

I remember in the book when the fellowship visits Lothlorien, that there were bodyguards that guarded Celeborn and Galadriel. Unfortunately, I do not recall what they look like and my book is in the car and its pouring rain outside.

The Elves from TTT seem excellent to me as bodyguard for Silvan Elves. Perfect for their culture and way of fighting, as Varjon said; it's rather ineffective to use cavalry in the woods.
It looks bad in the newspapers and upsets civilians at their breakfast...

I think that this Galadhrim Sentinels unit should be elite unit of Silvan Elves which is recruitable from Cerin Amroth and Caras Galadhon.

    Here's the full quote:

Elves of Lothlórien: ‘…they were tall and clad in grey mail, and from their shoulders hung long white cloaks.’*
