    Default Kypchaks

    Well something I found as playing as Kypchaks is that in the early game their really is not anything that can help u defeat the ERE bodyguards? THey seem always unkillable for me and is basically the only thing stopping me from annihilating them and the fact i have no ships T_T.

    ERE and other bodyguards are too powerful, so we'll be working on fixing them and boosting bodyguards who need that support.

    Just swarm them with spear units, they will go down eventually.

    Also your own bodyguards, though weaker individually, are like 2-3 times the size of the ERE BG. They would probably take them out also.

    Oh Kypchaks own Bodyguard die liek flies in melee with ERE bodyguards so that even the 8 man or less of the ERE can easily kill my Khan.

    If the ERE BG are so strong, no wonder so many people vote it as "best looking" unit...

    Hm, well considering the developers have said that they are too strong, and plan on changing it themselves, I don't think it would be considered cheating to adjust their power yourself.

    Just drop their armor/sheild by a couple points and their primary and secondary attack by a point each or so, and they should be easier to deal with, but still powerful.

    Actually I've changed all the bodyguards to 1HP in my game.
    It is more realistic, and ERE BG doesn't seem so uber after that.

    Hi, Could you change the hitpoints of Bodyguards to 1.5 or 1.25 rather than 1 or 2 or another whole integer??

    Nope, stats must eb a full numbers.
    I think attack delay is the only exeption.

    I don't see how that would make any difference even if you could.

    They would still take two hits to kill.

    Basically most units have 1 hit point, which means that if they are hit by an attack that successfully overcomes their defense, then they die.

    Bodyguards have 2 hit points, which means that even when hit by an attack that overcomes their defense, they still have to be hit by another such attack. When you combine 2 hit points with the ridiculously high defense of some BG units, it becomes quite hard to kill them.

    So, peasants can never kill BGs cause there attack is so low?

    Or even spearmen can't beat that BG defensive level, so its impossible to kill them right?

    No they still can. It's just much harder for them.

    There's still some kind of randomness involved, dice rolling or something, but only CA knows exactly how it works.

    Think of it like Dungeons and Dragons (if you play that). Even the lowliest goblin can hit a level 20 fighter in magic plate armor if it rolls a 20.

    Its used to be extremely frustrating to see my kypchak horse archers and lancers get chopped up by the ERE bodyguards but now its just funny cause well i can annhilate their entire army normally without losing over 200 men. This is expecting that they may have those damned emperors guards and maybe one cataphract but i was just liek whoa even when the ERE guys are exhausted they still manage to defeat me just cause of bodyguard. Damn supermen!

    good spearmen (lacking for Kypchaks, right) and javelins (Kypchaks have plenty of those, even mounted) - and they're going to the ground - maybe not so quickly like elephants, but... - besides Kypchaks are way overpowered enough (cheap units)

    And I guess unit roster (not only particular units but unit types as well) should be unique for factions, so that every faction should use unique strategy (it add more reply value to the game) - and it's already well implemented - only some minor balancing could done here if any.

    As for Royal Cataphractoi - I could only complain, that despite being so heavily armoured, they're way too fast and with too much stamina. Guess what - they're faster than Knights Of Jerusalem (one of the slowest bodyguards in the game, and not so heavily armoured :|), they can even outskirmish Turkopoles (light horse archers)- AND that's just silly.

    No, Kypchaks have decent Slavic Spearmen and Swordsmen and dismounted Kypchak Lancers and Nobles, plus upgraded levies used in mass and supported by swords, other better spears and bows etc. can do OK. They have decent and good Infantry.
