Mike Portnoy is incredible. Not my favourite drummer, but in my top 5 definitely.

What I find most fascinating about Portnoy is he's the DRUMMER, but is instrumental in the songwriting and direction of the band. Considering that band is Dream Theater, it's all the more interesting.

Metal drum solos suck, it all sounds the same.
Now, this is a good drum solo (Duet, actually)
