I would rather die for something than live for nothing, it's even on my signature. Martin Luther King Jr. said it best:

"A man who hasn't found something worth dying for, is not fit to live."

Now remember, dieing for something could mean anything, really. It could be for your faith, for your political beliefs, for your family, for your friends, for someone you've never met, but saved.... Living for nothing basically means just living for your own personal gain, yourself.

Are you sure? You would rather conform to the standards and orders of basically your rivals and enemies?

Best way to crush one's enemies is to infiltrate them and wreck them the up from the inside out. Like Char did in Mobile Suit Gundam

I would rather die than be a coward. As Shakespeare said it best, "cowards die a thousand deaths. The valiant taste of death but once. "

You only get to live once. Living is not necessarily selfish.

If I joined the army and died for my country, my mother would be devestated by my death.

    PS
Shakespeare was a poet, not a theologian or philosopher.

You are Roman Catholic, yet do not believe in an afterlife (Heaven, Hell, perhaps Purgatory)? Or have you turned away from Catholicism?

I forgot to mention, I would of course try to live, if there was a way out of the unfortunate situation.

I am yes, technically, Roman Catholic. I was confirmed.

I don't believe 90% of what they would teach me, and as soon as I am able, I will abandon Catholocism.

I would rather die for something (if and only if it came upon me). If the ones I love were in danger, I would happily sacrifice myself for them, but I'm not gonna go out and try to find trouble.

It's a question of selfishness vs selflessness

I'm just curious, if you hardly agree with your church, which church will you turn to? Does Protestant theology in general make more sense to you, in terms of understanding the Bible? Have you figured this out yet?

Why would he need religion or church anyway?
There is hardly need to turn to another church if you abandon one.

What if his case is simply that he disagrees with Roman Catholic theology, yet still believes in Jesus and God? That's what I'm thinking his situation is here.
