    Also on export_buildings:
    Code:
    {caravans_name}
    Caravans - improve taxable trade income

    {caravans2_name}
    Caravans - improve taxable trade income
    Right now I am getting an errorless CTD so I am thinking of some problem in the export_buildings file. But, as you can see, I have copied the entry from caravan to caravan2, identically!

    Things that I have not done and that I think some more experienced modder could help me with:
    - Add the UI pictures for the buildings
    - Change the export_descr_buildins_enum file. As far as I know, the enum files are no longer necessary with the 1.5. engine. But I am really bad with buildings so...who knows?

    I have not made any other modifications to the game, by the way.

    Thanks in advance.

    Have you outcommented one of the two lines mentioning carthaginian in the descr_ui_buildings.txt?

    I did have CTD's when I tried adding buildings but not UI cards. I think you need to have an associated UI card with all the buildings in the game.

    In 1.5/1.6 at least, the game generates a generic UI card, so thats not the problem.
    Instead, it is probably as Aradan said, the problem in descr_ui_buildings with Carthage.

    Hmm, this was not my experience nor what I was told to believe while editing buildings and getting CTD's without adding cards and none after they were added. But perhaps it was a problem someplace else that I was unaware of. And yes, I have 1.5

    The game will generate a generic UI card, as long as you don't regenerate map.rwm, in which case you get a CTD.

    Wait, does this mean, that if you code a camp map change and remove map.rwm, the game would ctd when you've parallel added a building without an explicite ui card? I never experienced this, as far as i can remember ... but i'm a bit confused now about this comment above.

    Aradan, can you explain this in detail?

    tbh I'm not sure how the two are connected, I just noticed this now that you 'bumped' it.
    Squid, are the two sentences connected or are they addressing two different issues? I can't remember making such a comment on this. :S

    Assuming, he misunderstood something.

    Any ui card things should be unrelated to camp coding and anyway, the game should create always a generic placeholder if not having explicite tga's added. If the game ctd's when added a new building, it has another reason, just not ui cards.

    This is not true, and I have proven it to my own hair-pulling satisfaction many times. You can have every line and letter right in your code, NO UI card in the UI folders, and it will load fine and use a 'generic' building cards as long as you don't regenerate the map. But as soon as you do that, your building will no longer work. My guess is that when you regenerate map.rwm, the .exe parses thru all the UI cards to ensure that they are there so they can be displayed when the campaign loads. It's a one time thing called 'world creation', and ONLY happens when the map regenerates. I've seen similiar 'annoyances' with a 'descr_rebel_factions.txt' mistake, where I had a no longer existing unit in it. The game worked fine UNTIL I regenerated map.rwm...at which point this file is 're-parsed' and the game CTD's showing the erroneous unit.

    Apparently, however, RTW is much less forgiving when it comes to buildings and their related parts when it comes to 'world creation'.
