Default You can't find out where the world comes from

Come and behold my thread all ye EMM readers!
I've got a theory. It explains why you can't find out where the world comes from. so.

Remember those calculations at primary school? (might not apply to your country...)
where there was "ink" spilled on a number and you had to guess what it was?
    for example: 1+X=3
what is under the ink spot? (the X)
    3-1=5. exactly.

I think that with the origin of the world, it's the same.
we can't find out where the world's from, because it's like on of those calculations, except we don't know the answer either. so:

    1+X=Y , or:
    The world+X=Y , or :
    X-Y=The world

    etc.

so, what do you guys think?

    @Valerius Tiberius
I turned the equation around, just like the first one : 1+x=3 , and then I turn in around: 3-1=X
it's like that, but the point is, we do not know what X and Y represent, which is why we don't know where everything came from.

    @Boeing
I'm not talking about our world, but about - to quote Douglas Adams - "life, the universe, and everything."

edit: added a poll, because I didn't know you could add polls like that and I wanted to try it sorry, just had to!

No, no, no!!! Don't use mathematic formulas if you have no idea what they represent.

You can only use mathematic formulas when you set conditions for the number space where you're working in. You'll need conditions, and then you can PROJECT a phenonmenon in the world into a mathematic formula WITH conditions based upon the limitations the phenomenon poses.

So what you're doing, simply using X and Y to represent something you have no idea about, would make my math and physics teacher choke.

So yeah, better luck next time

Tankbuster, That is the whole point I'm trying to make.
We don't know what X and Y represent, therefore we can't know where everything comes from.
edit: I wish I had something to make teachers choke!

You can't even INTRODUCE X and Y in the equation, mate!

And actually we do know where the earth comes from...
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Earth
You had a big cloud of gas from the Big Bang, who materialized when it cooled down, turning into a liquid substance. The lighter elements float upwards while the heavier sink into the core. When the whole substance cools down even more, first the outer shelf becomes hard, then the inner shelf as well.

    Et voilà

    Why can't I introduce X and Y? they're the things we don't know.
and your wikipedia link is about the earth, and our solar system.
the thread is about everything that exists. nihil nihilo fit.

Because that's what mathematics is all about Introducing variables for things you know and can describe.

Think about it. When we solve questions in maths class, we READ the problem first. Then we think about how we're going to translate it into mathematical symbols BUT in order to do that we need to set CONDITIONS, for example X, Y are element of the complex numbers, or the real numbers or whatever. But since we have no idea what X and Y represent thus we don't have conditions, thus we can't introduce them.
So, trying to introduce X and Y in our question is not mathematically correct, and therefore the rest of your calculations aren't correct either.

Maths is only a model for reality. When you take an abstract concept like the world and you want to do calculations with it, you use a mathematical MODEL with certain conditions and limitations. You can't do maths in a vacuum, like you're attempting

you could have just said; we cannot know where the ‘world’ came from because we cannot find the exact limits ~ no need for an equation, and its something we all already know.

Well, the theory sounded nice enough... by the way, who voted for option 4 and 6?

there is no answer to the making of the universe that science or math can explain without including an infinite being. The general point where the arguments fail is where did the material come from to make up the universe.

large hadron collider, basically a huge particle accelerator

    apparently it may create

micro black holes, strangelets, vacuum bubbles and magnetic monopoles

It's been awhile since I studied this, a black hole is a gate way to another dimension (anti-matter included)? stangelets are chain reactions that destroy all surrounding matter, and the other two I have no idea what they are.

lol i think they portal to another dimension was just a crazy theory, im pretty sure it will just kill us all
aparently microblack holes are more likely to cause "Spaghettification" which sounds pretty painful

"First, the object that is falling into the black hole splits in two. Then the two pieces each split themselves, rendering a total of four pieces. Then the four pieces split to form eight. This process of bifurcation continues up to and past the point in which the split-up pieces of the original object are at the order of magnitude of the constituents of atoms. At the end of the spaghettification process, the object is a string of elementary particles."

strangelets will turn normal matter into strange matter

not to sure about the other two either

    Erm, no.

For a start even if your simplistic model was anywhere near accurate then to say you can't know where the universe comes from you'd need to prove X and Y were impossible to know.

No, a black hole is a region of space that is inescapable due to a singularity (a mathematical term, the equations describing spacetime at this point become singular in math speak meaning it is a point of infinite density) at its centre.

Vacuum bubbles have to do with the idea that the universe isn't at its most stable state, and that the LHC could revert the universe to a more stable state which would render the universe uninhabitable.

Magnetic monopoles are the theoretical magnetic equivalent of electrical charges. I.e instead of a north and south always being together you could get a north or south magnetic pole on its own. According to some theories these would catalyse proton decay thus destroying the universe

Of course, all of this is paranoid nonsense.
