Default So... EU Rome is total pants

Really, I mean, what's the point of it? I've played one game, it's clear I'm going to conquer the world in the inevitable slur of time, and meanwhile I just painfully slowly fill up an exasperatingly empty map. It's as ugly as sin, as playable as a church organ and as exciting as a dead vole.

Not to mention your input is optional.

Obviously. It does not need you to run.

I really enjoyed EU: Rome. I found it to be a lot more accessible than other Paradox titles. Even though it wasn't in-depth strategy, it still gave me my Rome "fix" and was fun.

With time, I think it can only get better. Expansions and patches should help iron out any faults.

In contrast to the efforts of tiny Israel to make contributions to the world so as to better mankind, one has to ask what have those who have strived to eliminate Israel from the face of the earth done other than to create hate and bloodshed.

I was afraid to point out how absolutely boring and amateurish this game was, due to all the hype it was receiving.

Well, it looked cool, and the previews did a good job of not making it look shite.

I also found it to be awful. Probably the worst game Paradox has made.

I had a completely different experience in my roman campaing.
Although the game is really buggy and need a LOT of tweaks I had fun.

One thing I noticed was the lack of the "steam-roller" effect of CA's games. Even when I held all of western europe and Africa the Seleucids proved to be quite a challenge to me.

Of course the assasinates of your governos every day, the completeley unreasonable Victory points in a war made the game look like crap.

    regards

I only played the demo and it was absolutely awful. I'll take HOI2 and EU3 over it anyday.

God you can't even run it at top speed because your governors die so often.

I didn't like the demo, and I'm sure I wouldn't like the full game.
There are so many problems I have with it that listing them is going to take too long.

A major grievance is how empty the map is...
I want diplomacy, and this game offers me little.
(oh yes, there is some, but with a dozen nations I cannot see or reach)

Um, I find it less than acceptable that they expect people to pay money for a product that may work a year later.

Regretably this seems to be the case for this title. Which is a shame because i was really excited to play it. I've taken it out for a spin so to speak and promptly threw it right back in the box. I'll stick with In Nomine for the time being. Hopefully an expansion or two will be made that will bring out the potential for this game. However, it definately is bad form to release a title that everyone rushes out to get. Only for those who do get it to realize it's gonna take an expansion or two to make it enjoyable. Bad form indeed.

Hence why I didn't buy it.
According to the Theory of War, which teaches that the best way to avoid the inconvenience of war is to pursue it away from your own country, it is more sensible for us to fight our notorious enemy in his own realm, with the joint power of our allies, than it is to wait for him at our own doors.
