    Default Royalty Free Music

I have run across a few musicians who have put some of their stuff in the public domain under the Creative Common License. There are some other sites out there that you can pay a fee for and then use however you wish, but these guys give their stuff away for free, as long as you include them in the credits. The links I have provided are to their license agreements that state you are free to use the music however you wish.

The first site has probably the best music for use in M2 or RTW, but all have some pretty good stuff.

Thank you so much for listing my site on your page. I really appreciate, plus really appreciate the nice compliment of listing me with the other sites.. Awesome!

So, question: What kind of music would you like to see on my site that might be a better fit for what you are looking for? I can write a lot of syles but I tend to do a lot of piano and strings because I love the way the melodies drift through my head... No other way to describe it, sory...

But I can pretty much do anything, so give me some ideas, and I'll see what I can come up with...

Hello Jimmy! Wow I never expected you to see that, how did you find it??

btw I am using a few of your files, and I just checked out the Hotel California on your site. Awesome job.

Classical music styles seem to be the most popular around here, strings are always good, heavy drums for battle scenes, whatever you think I guess. Every group here probably has their own unique tastes so it would be hard to quantify.

If you happen to play any kind of computer games you can take hints from that, the RTW and M2TW games have their own fairly unique styles. I cant upload the files because of our policies, but you can probably find some samples on YouTube that would be good for inspiration.

I found it just from doing some odd searches, I guess... Kind of strange, but cool!

I did listen to some things and some stuff on Youtube.... Really cool stuff...

So I'm wondering if on my site:
    http://www.jimmyg.us

If you go to the downloads section and in the search text box right above the music (not the search box in the menu bar) search for "Hard Ride"... I'm wondering if that piece might be usable.

If so, go for it! I would love to see anything that you come up with, and remember, it's released under Creative Commons, so it's fair game!

BTW - I've gotten a lot of benefit through the years with a lot of the 'open source' software (linux, et al) that this is a way I can pay back the benefit I've received from all the great people before me...

Thanks again for your comments... It means a lot to me...

I listened too it, it has a bit of fantasy in it i thought at the beginning.

But it would work real nice on a movie, got views when the camera pans over the forces.

    Have you played the game?

    Hi,

No,I haven't played the game. I'm up to my eyeballs in work and sometimes don't get enough sleep... I would love to play, though... I come pretty old school. My first adventure game was Zork. Text based... I loved that game, though. I was only about 12 years old at the time playing it on my Atari 800...

My dad built a Heathkit 'computer' back in the late 70's... it had a 16 LED display and we programed some games in it... similar to "Simon" and stuff like that. I also do software and website development, too... All of it keeps me pretty busy, but I love it all.

Where can I get a good intro for the game? i.e. something I can read about?

The game is about Medieval battles, Massive battles.
But there are modifications that put the game in other eras.

You can find movies of the game and its mod on Youtube.

    That's awesome.

I also checked out Primal Neonation, which I hadnt listened to before. Have you ever considered swapping the piano out for strings? An orchestral sound behind that drum beat would sound pretty good.

For more information on the Total War games you can always check out the official Total War website. Rome Total War still has a link to the demo, M2 and Empire do not.

RTW is set in the ancient Roman empire starting at 270 BC.

M2TW is set in medieval times starting at 1080 AD.

Empire is set in the eighteenth century, and is scheduled for release in late February I believe.

I dont know how much you have looked around the site, but its basically geared towards playing and modifiying the entire Total War series. New music is always an issue for mod teams as we have few musicians that visit, and copyright issues with music can cause huge legal problems. That's why I posted a link to your site when I found it.

Total War is really cool game. I have played few parts (e.g. Kingdoms). And what I love about this game is definitely music. Always war, total epic background music in battle scenes.
I know there is a lot of different places for getting music for free or not. I found this guy through web https://www.acousticbro.com. Maybe someone will be interested by his service. He has some interesting royalty free music and background music and for quite fair price.
