    Default Hardcoded unit limit...

Searched around but couldn't find an answer to this question. Basically, I wanted to know which file is used by the game to determine how many units are in? As in, if I'm at the 500 unit limit and want to remove a unit to fit in another, which file do I need to edit, modeldb, EDU, both, or some other file?

    Much thanks.

...actually - there could be a number of files you would have to edit - it depends on the unit you remove.

    EDU, EDB, descr_strat, campaign_script, rebel_factions...etc...

As far as I can tell, the modeldb has nothing to do with the limit.

That wasn't the question. The question was: Which file is used to determine the number of units when considering the hardcoded limit for units? The answer is: the EDU.

Right. The EDU is the primary file to edit. Of course, the unit would also need to be removed from any campaign that it is in.

wouldn't it be kind of a messy mod if you had leftover info from deleted units, I think it's best if all info about the unit is deleted from everwhere(the models(if not used by another unit), EDB entry, EDU entry, descriptions, modeldb etc.

Yes, you would get a CTD unless that unit was erased from every file it was mentioned (well...except for the modeldb).
