Searching for that film

I have now come before you, fellow people of TA, with an urgent desire.


I am searching for the title of an old movie on VHS.


It was an animation movie, where, after closing time, the conents of a supermarket would raise to life in a rather spectacle.


It is a music movie, I think with jazzy music, and I remember it started at the entrance, when the last employer would shut down lights and leave the market.
One could say the main character was some kind of puppet which, at some point, would use the plates it stands on to roll down some stairs in the fashion boutique.

I am also quite sure that after this movie came a second one, comparable, but with another setting.
This one would be during christmas time, and especially be restricted to a toy shop. It starts, if I remember correctly, with a zoom on the front where a young child would watch the toys through the glasses, then walking away, after which "the party started".

Last time I wanted to watch it I noticed we gave it away, and I am in dire need of it.


The cover is, so I think, of yellowis/reddish background featuring some of the "characters" from the movie, most notable being the already mentioned puppet, which would actually be located on the centre.

If anyone of you knows it, and especially knows where to attain it, I would be extremely thankful.
