    Default Titles

So question is, which titles should us include? This idea has been used for example in Stainless Steel.

My suggestions for Gondor: Prince of Dol Amroth, Prince of Ithilien (though this title was given to Faramir after WotR, I think we can include it ), Steward of Gondor (stewards didn't disappear after return of the king, there were stewards also during times of kings, they were kind of vice presidents of Gondor), King of Gondor (title for faction leader), Heir of Gondor (title for faction heir), Governor of Anórien, Tolfalas etc. .

Well, for Rohan you could have the King of Rohan, obviously, and also First Marshall of the Riddermark, Second Marshall of the Mark and Third Marshall of the Mark. Then there's Shieldmaiden, if Eowyn's going to make an appearance, and some random other titles such as Horsemaster and Master-Breeder.

i disagree with Prince of Ithilien
    -------------------------------------------------------------

i will suggest some title for elves

(it's pity that the last High King of Noldor was Gil-Galad)

    i want some Elven Titles
    like Lady of the Wood
or one for Elrond, maybe Peredhel or Half-elven
    Noldorin Lord for Glorfindel
a title for Cirdan (maybe the Shipwright)
    Prince of Mirkwood for Legolas
Elven King of Mirkwood or just King of Mirkwood for Thranduil

Glorfindel, the Lord of the House of the Golden Flower

...Glorfindel was tall and straight, his hair was of shining gold, his face fair and young and fearless and full of joy, his eyes were bright and keen, and his voice like music, on his brow sat wisdom, and in his hand was strength...

... the Elven-wise, lords of the Eldar from beyond the furthest seas. They do not fear the Ringwraiths, for those who have dwelt in the Blessed Realm live at once in both worlds, and against both the Seen and the Unseen they have great power...

Well maybe we can script it so someone can't get the title Prince of Ithilien until after the War of the Ring

Most of these suggestions are hereditary. Gondor isn't a democracy...

Anyway titles coming from settlements always annoyed me. I think they should first randomly go to the most able generals and be passed on to a son after they die, assuming they have an heir.

In SS 4.1 at least the "Marshal", "Treasurer" and "Horsebreeder" traits all seemed to go to the Faction Leader, so there should be a limit of one title per character.

    this hurted
i had it in my signature and i was proud of it

but i still think that Noldorin Lord would do the job better cause there is no House of Gondolin in the Third Age

Dúnadan was just the singular of Dúnedain, not a title.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and all these were titles that were only given to their respective owners after the end of the War of the Ring:

The King Under the Mountain at the end of the Third Age was Dáin II Ironfoot, and the Thain was Paladin II, father of Peregrin.

The fellowship doesn't exist, so if we include hobbits, that would be there title, and most of this can be used

Only Arwen & Faramir is after the third age I know, Faramir is ranger of Ithilien, and Arwen is Arwen Undomiel, nothing special more?

Great job and great ideas which were in my mind too ! +rep

Though at least in first release we don't include hobbits (Frodo, Samwise, Meriadoc, Peregrin)

I thought we start from year 2953 or 2954. I think Code_Knight said that this ain't only about WotR. At year 2953 Saruman settled at Orthanc and fortified Isengard. At year 2954 Mount Doom became active vulcano again and Mordor started to gain dark forces in there.

Though this brings problems if we want family members such as Éomer, Faramir, Boromir etc. which weren't born yet that time. Maybe we can script that Théoden's sister will have two children, Éomer and Eodwyn and Denethor will have two sons, Boromir and Faramir etc.

Then you will have many things to add, many years, but I don't think we make it realism! Doesn't care, we do it for the fun! I thought we could do it with the timeline of the War of the Ring - 3018 & 3019 with weeks to pass!

Maybe you can make a High Campaign of the Third age and a Mini campaign of The War of the Ring?

For a timeline look at this

Already decided that this mod is about the end of Third Age, not only about WotR.

Gondor also has a council of advisors to the King/ Steward. Maybe we can include a title like "chief Councilor" or something to that effect?

If Gondor conquers the Harad- Hyarmendacil (South-victor) is the title of two Kings of Gondor who won great victories over the southern lands: Hyarmendacil I, and his descendant Hyarmendacil II.

If Gondor conquers the Easterlings- Rómendacil ("East-victor" in Quenya) is the title of two Kings of Gondor who won great victories over the eastern lands: Rómendacil I, and his descendant, Rómendacil II.

Yes and that wasn't 100% same Glorfindel, Glorfindel had reborn at the beginning of 2nd Age.

Oh yeah, most of those titles should definately be used, but like I said, most of them (such as Thain of the Shire) belonged to different people before the end of the Third Age.
However, a few of the titles you listed (specifically Lord of the Glittering Caves, Captain of the White Company, Lady of the Shield-Arm and Prince of Ithilen) didn't exist before the end of the War of the Ring.
