    Default MoBo's

    Greetings Peeps,

A tad confused with all the new MoBo's different chipsets, I want a fast gaming , easy to overclock Board for DDR2, Quad core pro Q6600 Energy efficient, not the new .45 nano one.
What is a decent buy, I don't need all sorts of extra's(frills).

I prob will go for the ATi 4870 GPU. I doubt I will take the crossfire route.

    Cheers for any help.

Nvidia 680i or 780i. But here's the thing.

Half the people say the latest processors don't work with the 680i, yet there are some who say it works fine. (Like me, I'm using the E8400 on a 680i and I have no problems.)

But... If you go with 780i, there are a lot of bugs, and Nvidia and company aren't doing anything about it. Only difference is that the 780i has PCI-E 2.0, 680i has 1.0, but there is barely a performance difference.

Well, that's Nvidia MOBO's, there are always the intel motherboards but I don't know too much about them.
