it had its moments but it was pretty retarded
I haven't seen it but judging from commercials and trailers, I judge it as all out balls to the wall retarded. I understand leaps of faiths in movies but this seems like it's just destroying realism on so many levels I won't even care to understand. curving bullets, spinning out cars and catching people in open doors without them getting hit by the car, shooting the wings off a fly with your eyes closed, flipping cars over and shooting a guy through your window and his sunroof, angelina jolie pistol whipping aing bullet and it somehow does an almost complete turn around and keeps moving at the same speed...need I go on?

@danzig:
Yeah I've read that it hasn't got much to do with the original comics, which makes you wonder why they even bother basing it on that.Pretty bleh...for one it threw away and ignored most everything from Millar's series both story/character/premise and basic message.
Yeah I mean its not that they changed the story or adapted it in ways to fit into a movie...those things you'd expect when doing book/comic to movie crossover. They took pretty much everything in the comic except for maybe two things and tossed everything else away. The ending is so horribly bad and one of the few things they did adapt from the comic (atleast in the dialog) but its so bad because the movie didnt even hit on the themes in the comic that made the ending make sense. I dont even know why they would pay for the rights to Wanted if they didnt actually do anything remotely close to the story. Of course the big problem with Wanted isnt that it didnt adapt the comic its that the movie is so painfully bad.
And yeah the movie pretty much rips off every time stop gimmick of Matrix and in excessively long sequences.

so is it worth 8 bucks or a net flix rental?
I thought it was hilarious.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Probably more of a movie where you bring friends and laugh at how over the top it is. Not a movie to be taken seriously, at all.
Wait for the rental.so is it worth 8 bucks or a net flix rental?
I was excited to see it, but some of the things in it defy all logic and it becomes silly. Its just another action packed movie that gets your blood pumping, but I would say its worth the wait to rent it.
Will if they stuck closely with the comic the film would've been X-rated.Yeah I mean its not that they changed the story or adapted it in ways to fit into a movie...those things you'd expect when doing book/comic to movie crossover. I took in the whole plot from watching the commercial.
And any show were bullets collide with each other has stupid written all over it.
Probably plus there is the fact that the main character is certainly not a "good guy" in the comic...hell he is pretty much flat out vile piece of crap but then why make this movie and call it Wanted? It isnt like we are talking about Spiderman or Batman here which has vast name value, most people probably never even heard of the comic.
It is a rental...not worth the 8 bucks.so is it worth 8 bucks or a net flix rental?
This is probably one of the downsides of turning comics into movies, the true believers know what is to be expected while the vast majority have no clue what they are watching was inspired by comics. Take Road to Perdition for example with Tom Hanks, very very few people knew it was a comic. Even when Iron Man came out so many critics liked it but never heard of him before like Spidey, Batman, or Superman. I just hope the Watchmen and The Spirit get the respect they deserve as being ground breaking pieces of literature when they are transformed into movies.Probably plus there is the fact that the main character is certainly not a "good guy" in the comic...hell he is pretty much flat out vile piece of crap but then why make this movie and call it Wanted? Hmm? I thought Ironman was still a pretty well known comic character, for me certainly more so than stuff like Elektra and Daredevil.
One (of the many) downsides of the current popularity of comic book movies is that studios will pretty much try to turn any comic into a movie, no matter how random or unknown it is. In some cases, it doesn't even have to be published yet.![]()
And yeah, Wanted couldn't even have been made into a movie like it was. It's not even the violence, it's the whole story, the characters. I think they really pick out edgy comics, give it to a writer and tell him "here, turn this into mainstream". Pointless really.

What?
Please... elaborate. I'm curious.need I go on?
It was in the trailer, I can't quite explain it.
Well I don't mind movies being a bit unrealistic or over the top occasionally. I laugh at it since it's being compared to the Matrix (I can think of several reasons why they're not comparable, but I take it they talk of the action) and in the Matrix at least they explain how it's not a real world and thusly physics can be bent/broken.Please... elaborate. I'm curious.
This movie is just ridiculous. I already explained most of the reasons why in my last post, and that was just from seeing the commercials. I understand if you want to see it because it could be good entertainment and good for you. I'll be over here ranting to myself about why I wont see it.

Best popcorn action flick of the summer!
Totally stupid in every way, but I loved every second of it. Sometimes you want a simple action movie and this one fits the bill. Totally predictable, decent special effects though I think once you've seen someone shoot a bullet out of the air once, you don't need to show it like 6 more times...
Bullet time special effects are like red lights...1 or 2 is okay, but 6 in a row is annoying.
