The Crusades
I'm playing as Spain on my vanilla campaign, and the pope issued a crusade. i sent my large to Jerusalem, which was the target of the crusade.
I went to Jerusalem which was occupied by 2 measly peasant units.
I quickly conquered it but, I got a notice that said i was to late to join the crusade because it was canceled?
Also, while I was in the region the other factions had a pilgrim unit and i was wondering how do I get these?
Thanks in advance.

Re: The Crusades
U did make a general create a crusader army right? Oh and those pilgrims are available as a mercenary unit for crusading armies.
Anyhow, the crusade could have been cancelled because a not excommunicated catholic faction captured it, whetter it was a crusading army or not, It took to long which results into a cancellation or no faction joined the crusade within 10 turns.

Re: The Crusades
That's right, you have to open the details for one of your generals, and select "Join Crusade" from the symbols at the bottom left.
