Strange placement of fleet

Playing the Danes. Marched up to Novgorod and what do I spot? A Russian fleet in the lake SE of the city. How it arrived, I do not know. The port is on the Baltic and I do not see a connection. Now with the Russians gone, I have a rebel fleet as a naval museum! Weird.

It was probably hired as mercenary ship by Russians, I had a Egyptian ship in the Dead sea and she was so annoying that I had to hire my own mercenary ship and attack Egiptians.

I had a similar thing happen to me, but with the Turks in the sea of Galilee. I had joined the crusdae and taken Jerusalem, and there was a Turkish ship in the sea. It landed an army and attacked, but i beat them off

. Wierd though, but the mercenary ship thing probably explains it.

AI sometimes hires mercenary ships in lakes. I've seen an army retreat onto one and become inaccessible for me

well you can do one of 3 things
1. wait for a storm to come and destroy the fleet
2. hire your own merc ship and destroy the fleet
3. use the move_character cheat and move the fleet somewhere near an enemy, thus destroying it
