cannot close internet

i cant close the internet because it dinged and it did not close on vista! what should i do!

It's impossible for anyone person the close the internet. The only feasible way of doing it is if you had some kind of massive Pinch (Electro Magnetic Pulse) device in ever major city in the world to kill off every major internet provider and server and backups but that goes beyond the boundaries of this forum.

Go to Control Panel, Network and Internet Connections, Network Connections and you should see Local Area Connection icon. Press it with right mouse button and disable it. That should do the trick.

That is if you are using Windows XP.

Marcus535 How do you connect to the internet? ADSL, cable... ? And how exactly are you trying to disconnect from it? Need more info to help.

... He means when he presses close it dings and doesn't close Internet Explorer, do people decode functional sentences into mumbo jumbo in their heads? Problem with IE not Vista just end the process in the Task Manager and if it keeps happening then use another browser.
