"Failed to initialize 3D audio!" ???

First of all I'm not sure if this belongs here but I want to ask for advice. Heres what happened. I wanted to free up space in my cpu so I deleted Rome Total War. Then an audio problem came up when I opened up another game. So I did a system restore. Now I still want to delete RTW. When I go to start-control panel-uninstall RTW has a medieval 2 total war icon. When I click uninstall it says setup.exe has stopped working. When I put in the game their is no uninstall option and when I click "play" it says "Failed to Initialize 3d audio" and then closes. What am I supposed to do??? I have Windows XP and i recently deleted the Europa Barbarium mod.

Delete the files from their directory manualy. Go to program files or wherever you have installed the game. Right click on the game's folder and choose delete. It will take some time so wait.
