I once saw their training with US military officers :d extremely funny.

Some of those pictures include American soldiers...

But many of them wear a mix of old Iraqi uniforms, US surplus and out dated uniforms, and uniforms donated from many countries. Standardised uniforms are not yet priority number one. But Iraqis seems short by that.

Seeing as a majority are Arab Muslims, with the significant minority Kurdish Muslims. Very few are Turkmen, but Iraqi Turkmen are mostly Muslim.

Saracen = Latin for Easterner, which is what Arabs were compared to Western Europeans.

And I fail to see your point, only the tiniest percent of the Iraqi Army is Christian. Also the fact is that Turkopoles were Turkic...

No, they are being equipped with M-16s, though they may have used the Type-56 before.

Iraq has ordered $100 million worth of light military equipment from China for its police force, contending that the United States was unable to provide the materiel and is too slow to deliver arms shipments, Iraqi President Jalal Talabani said yesterday.

Well except for in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan, Kuwait who are all buying US equipment, along with Egypt...

Yea, the Iraqi military is currently transitioning from old Saddam (and pre-Saddam) equipment to newer equipment.

Then why don't just all use AK-100 series?? Better gun than the M16 series and AK-101/107 use NATO 5.56 too.

Or because we have the serial numbers for all those old M16s, so we can track where they are going. Good way to find out who is selling to the insurgents...

Unfortunately Saudis probably want G36/AK107/FAMAS more than M16...

About selling weapons to insurgents, I don't believe it would stop if there is serial number... Even Russians sold tank armor to insurgents... Besides, if Iraqi buy new AK107 there will be serial number too (and Iraqis have very few AK100 series).
