In all honesty I don't pay too much attention to the names of my generals. Especially since I don't use too many FMs to lead my armies, I use them mainly as governors for my settlements.

I don't think I ever saw Julius Caesar come up.

There are no historical figures in game that didn't exist at the start time. There is a chance that the random naming system will give you a guy with the same name as a historical figure. He is not the historical figure, however, and is only what you make him.

    I got Scipio Africanus, once.

    Game of the Fates
Mod of the week on hold -- I've played nearly every RTW mod out there.
BOYCOTT THE USE OF SMILEYS! (Okay, just once)
Antiochos VII...last true scion of the Seleucid dynasty...rest in peace, son of Hellas.
I've returned--please forgive my long absence.

So the FMs you get at the beginning is all the historical people you get or are those historical at all? (unless it's like Xanthippos)

All the starting families are based on the historically accurate families/people in those factions (where there is information on them). Xanthippos is included because he was born at the start date.

Okay, one question though. With Qarthadistim, Hamalcar(commander at Lilibeo) is he supposed to be Hamilcar Barca?

Doesn't Hamalcar have a son named Hamilcar and that is the father of Hannibal, making Hamalcar the grand father of Hannibal? I'm not sure, I never play Kart-Hadast.

Yeah that Hamilcar(father of Hannibal) is spelled Hamalcar. And he turns out to be a worthless officer. No complaints though.
