Irritating Mouse Problem..

hey people.

iv been a dedicated player of Rome for ages.

and only recently i noticed that when i right click and drag a unit across the screen,it doesnt work properly.

i mean, if i right click and drag, the unit is meant to stay in the one spot, but spread out/deepen according to ur choice. well mine doesnt. it kinda moves to where the mouse cursor is, and it is VERY irritating. i cant form a bloody army up, because of this wierd mouse problem.. (example - unit of nubian spearmen, right click and drag, attempting to thin out a phalanx line. to make this so, u drag to the far right, without letting go. once i let go of the right mouse button, ther unit continually moves to the area where the mouse cursor is, so instead of facing an enemy infantry charge, they right wheel and open their bloody flank, causing a rout and potential defeat of my army)

its only recent, perhaps the past few days. anyone any ideas? before i break things in frustration ¬_¬

oh, another thing.

sometimes the drag thing will work, but most of the time it wont ¬_¬

it worked fine until like last night, or even 2 nights ago

Probably got corrupted. Just need to reinstall it and start over.

Sorry for bumping an old thread up but I felt it was a better thing to do than making a new one. Im a long time player of RTW, and recently downloaded RTR as well and enjoyed that thoroughly. After a fresh install of RTW I am facing the exact same problem as Xenophon. Right clicking allows me to drag my formation width out but then letting go doesn't put the order into effect, it just leaves me with the purple/yellow movement indicators until I left click.

I have reinstalled three times, done complete uninstalls and even used two different games. As well as patching it up and reinstalling DirectX. This has only started happening recently since I first reinsatlled it and is driving me insane. Any help would be appreciated.
