Default does backspacing everything in your log then saving destroy your log??

i backspaced everything in my log and then i saved because i kept getting the same stupid error message which i found impossible. I thought the problem must be somewhere else so i backspaced it, saved it and played the game so when it crashed it would tell me where the "real" problem was. i was so stupid that i should have put it here but anyways.....now my log stays completely blank

    1. any ideas on how to fix it
    2. when it says it encountered an unspecified error when starting a campaign, can you help me figure out where the problem is (not exactly but you get my idea)?
    3. what if i delete my log system, would it regenerate and fix it?

also it only happens in early era campaign....this is SS but the log problem is medieval total war so thats why im writing this here

It generates new system.log.txt everytime you play the game. The game, if not told where to put it, will generate in the M2TW folder. Most mods in their .cfg file point it to the M2TW/logs folder. I don't know where SS puts theirs since they use a mod folder but if you played a game one was generated.

Are you using Vista? Your .cfg file for SS6 is here.: C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6 and it points to your logs folder. Look in there.

as you see i have some script error at descr_strat.txt but how do i know when it is line 635, column 12 rather than counting one by one. Also i have no idea what the rest means

Look in there to find the region name. That name has to match the one in th descr_ regions.txt and the imperial_campaign_regions_and_settlement.txt or what SS maybe calling it in their mod folder.

To directly go to a line without counting, open Notepad, then go to Edit>Go To then type the number of the line you want to go to.
