I was going to make a super guide but no one likes the idea what do you all think

friends I was going to make a super guide to all the strategy's of all the mods of both the latest total war games but it seems that it was not a very good idea and no less then two high repped people foot and general r. Rommel hated it so should I just stop I feel really sorry a few people seem insulted what do you think. again sorry : never mind I now have three team members already and looking for more

U should at least get someone to represent this idea, because no offence but u come over like a 13 year old kid and that just asks for rejections, I mean super guide? Give me a break. Anyway like I told u before, this site http://totalwar.honga.net got just about anything we need to know, so I dont see a good reason to make another guide.

Well, in case you're going to write the guide in the same style as your post here, it would be unreadable. I really wouldn't even bother to try to read it.

No offense, but when writing something like a guide, it really comes to this, otherwise people will throw it away after the first page...

Quink.NL, I am sorry for such a post as to make me seem an incompetent kid many have said,like you, that I have many punctuation errors, so your right thank you, so much, for pointing that mistake out to me. I am usually much more careful when I actually write something in the future I hope to gain your respect, again, thank you, I would rather be criticizes for being wrong, so I can learn from it, then to think my self right and never learn any thing. I respect both your opinions, but, egg thief, correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that more of a utility then a guide? I have searched that site extensively and found it a great resource for unit stats and descriptions but, not a guide. Again, I apologize for any errors in my grammar.

M2TW was released 2 years ago, it didnt sold amazingly good, not everybody who got it checks sites like these and the chance they'd find your guide when it would finally be done isnt 100% neither. All by all, my point is that u would probably help even less than a 100 people with a guide and I bet that there are already some good ones out there. Just let new people make overhasted topics at the general discussion, they dont check out the FAQ's so they'll probably wont check out a guide as well.

I say this much if the guide you are talking about is well written and very insightful and can help newer players get the handle of the game than by all means go for it.You can never have enough strategy guides to a game.

And if anything else as long as it has new material and is well represented and written is not a bad idea as it will give a different perspective and point of view on how best to manage and beat the game in question.Is true of what you say that other sites just give unit stats and descriptions which is good but a true strategy guide that focuses on the in's and out's of the game like how to manage your faction or empire, battle strategy tips Etc they are very few out there if not none at all.

So i say if you feel like is something that can be of great value or contribution to everyone and further help newer players master the game or games than by all means don't let anyone stop you and let everyone judge you by your body of work.

Just remember one very important thing presentation,and detailed information regarding the project you are about to undertake and the reasoning behind your en devour will further help sell your ideas to the viewing public and help them understand further what you are trying to accomplish and in doing so you may find individuals like myself and others more receptive to your idea and some may offer there services.

Anyhow i wish you the best should you decide to go through with your idea.

I'm considering making a unit guide like frogbeastegg's for mtw2 right now I'm in the process of making one for rome. I write because I enjoy it. I don't mind if my audience is limited.

Thanks war machine! I have decided I am going to now start, as the Bible said "do not praise thy self, but let others praise thy work and actions" would you help me? Now, here is my idea, in full detail, I will put it in three points: 1: the main idea is to make a huge extremely detailed guide on all the strategy's of the two latest total wars comparing different options for different play styles. 2: I thought that it would also be good to put a "true history" section for every part of the guide, comparing the real militarily and economical systems of the various factions in the various mods to their in game equivalents.3: I always thought this was a good idea, but could never find a team to join, so, as a last resort, I decided to start one, I cant give many other details, my self, because this teams is not communist and I am not the dictator so we will vote for every decision. So what do you think?

hmm... your probably right a few moderators thought it a good idea but they aren't the sort people who would be reading it, they are already very good! PS it is a lot of hard work, and if it would help less then 100 people, then I am not sure its worth it. so basically your telling I am too late, I will not like, to tell the team about this though I wont ever be able to show my face in public again..... but is their any one here that thinks it is worth doing I had no idea I would have such a small amount of people to help!

From my point of view if you are willing to go through all the way with it and is as i said helpful and informative and has new material and is very detailed then it is a good idea.It is alot of work but if you feel like you can do it then by all means go for it and let everyone judge you as i said by your body of work.Good luck

Once I have decided the format of the guide I will ask you for help, I am a history buff and I have done allot of research, but, theirs some things in history that I have no idea how to explain or write about, but until then I wouldn't want to take up your free time. but man, you are helpful!

I didn't mean the format of the file, Spartacus I meant how it would be put together. A pdf file would be fine, remember, it will be my job to not only do some parts of the guide myself but to put all the work of every one that joins me into one well put together guide, not collection of glued together fragments of many different guides. Just do your best with what your solid with, and, if all the team does that, then it will be awesome and very detailed, not just another "starter guide". Leave all the bloody details in!. Happy writing!

A moderator there named frogbeastegg has created some very in depth strategy guides for a few of the Kingdom's campaigns. Its a good place to start for some ideas.
