Default [Artifex][FAILED 0:9:1 01/07/08] Code_Knight (Patron: Leonidas the Lion) (Closes July 1st)

Client: Code_Knight
I started out on TWC in October of 2007, the reason I joined was so that I could PM a the creator of the mod Clouds Across Europe (his name doesn't come to mind, I think it starts with a Z...), but after that I became relatively inactive. That is until the recruitment call for RGI (Res Gestae Imperiales) was posted on the front page (about January of 2008). I joined the mod team as a historian. I never liked being a historian, I didn't feel like I was a true modder, so I began to learn things in the fields of: 2D, 3D, and of course coding (hence my name). I seemed to have a nitch for 2D things, some of my work includes Wallpapers for RGI (you can see it on there Sub Forum), and the sig I currently have, I am making faction symbols, banners, skins, etc.. for TATW (Third Age Total War). Alletun taught me a lot of what I know and as time has passed I can call my self a 2D graphical artist (and a pretty good one). Unfortunately, RGI became dead, mostly because our mod leader is inactive. The team members liked how I managed things around the sub forums and I took up the place as team leader, but I only consider it a temporary role until I-Trojan-I comes back. And currently I am a new librarian. Hope this gives you the information that you need. Once again thank you for this offer.:original:

Code_Knight has made great contributions to the field of modding. He has been working on and leading to mods at the same time and had turned into a great 2D artist his is also a librarian of the scriptorium. These coupled together that he is a great guy to work with make a worthy of citizenship.

Regards,
Leonidas The Lion

Haven't looked into his modding but his debating prowess is next to nil.

I've not made up my mind yet --

Reading through his latest posts, 95% of them are 1-liners, many of which have no real meaningful/helpful content. The posts are in long streaks of two minutes per post...

his modding abilities are good, but as to whether he should be a citizen, well, I can't quite give him that. His contributions have been to mods, and his artifex badge should be enough.

Aye, his debating skill is null. But his modding contributions can be enough for a promotion.
"Romans not only easily conquered those who fought by cutting, but mocked them too. For the cut, even delivered with force, frequently does not kill, when the vital parts are protected by equipment and bone. On the contrary, a point brought to bear is fatal at two inches; for it is necessary that whatever vital parts it penetrates, it is immersed. Next, when a cut is delivered, the right arm and flank are exposed. However, the point is delivered with the cover of the body and wounds the enemy before he sees it."

Being a modder (unless exceptionally good) should not save the skin of a silly spammer (I've not made my research yet but the quotes presented by Garnier are appalling enough)

I would agree if we were voting on him becoming a civitate/citizen, but since this is for artifex, and that's what the artifex badge deals with (modding) then I see no reason not to give it to him

Well, citizens are citizens, I am a citizen, so is everyone who has the right to vote in the Curia. The artifex badge is a sort of award for citizens who are recognized for their modding contributions.

That's how I see it anyway.

Another thing, that I think;

Leading a mod isn't the same as modding. Anyone can lead a mod and tell other people what to do. A real mod leader in my opinion is the person who does most of the work, with other people giving contributions. The title of mod leader means nothing to me.

I haven't fully examined his actual modding work, but I'm just saying that someone leading a mod means nothing in itself.

The artifex badge confers citizenship. It's the same coin with Civitates on the flip side.

Now he earnestly tries to debate, I've had many a convo with him, he doesn't spam on the ethos, my colleague Mr. Arouet can attest for that. He just...sucks at it.

I'm going to check out his modding contribs now.

That's not entirely true. The (wholly subjective) criteria for Artifex are significantly different than Civitate.

When Third Age: Total War comes out I'll think about it. No.

Since when was actually releasing a mod a requirement for the Artifex badge?

It does give the opportunity to check out the modding work first-hand.

ok, fair enough, but since we're still dealing with the artifex part of citizenship, I see no reason not to give it to him.

But I will do more digging into his mod work before I give a final answer.

But it shouldn't be a requirement for Artifex.

I added links to some of his work to the application.
