Default A few questions about roma surrectum

Hi, i have played europabarbarorum for over a year now and i am thinking about uninstalling eb and downloading roma surrectum, but before i do that, i have a few questions,

1.does the roma surrectum map extend all the way to India?

2.Do factions speak their native languages? (such as the romans speaking latin, greeks speaking greek, etc.)

3.is roma surrectum as historically accurate as europabarbarorum?

4.will RSwork if it is installed in the rome total war folder if i already have another mod already installed there such as rome total realism?

Thank you for any help in advance.

    1. No, but the map has a much larger scale
    2. No
    3. Not 1.5, but RS2.0 is aiming to be historically accurate when it is released
    4. No, RS is not compatible with any other mod, to play other mods make a copy of the vanilla folder and install RS into the copy.

Wow, that was easy, four 'no' responses.

And now a question for which the answer is 'yes':

    - Is RS awesome?

it sounds to me that someone just wants EB but with less loading time, segmentata legionnaires, and 0-turn recruitment... oh, and Tone's Hoplites! :p

Thank you for helping, i will wait for rs 2 to come out and then downoad it. The reasons that i have got tired of eb are

1.way too many bugs, i mean i cant play a Roman campaign without worrying abut getting a ctd.

    2. The turns are so long that it takes me 2 weeks to get the polybian reforms, and dont even mention the imperial reforms

    3. But overall, i still think that it is a good mod, i just want to try something new.

hagio, I stopped playing EB recently because of the ctd problem.

RS is definitely worth a look, the strat map is excellent, as are the unit skins and battles are tough, except for the overpowered missiles (imho).

It's not as detailed as EB but this is one of its attractions. I think EB has gotten overly detailed since 1.0. Too many traits for instance.

Try RS 1.5 (itīs great), because we need to do a lot of things on RS2.0!

EB is very boring compared to Roma Surrectum..That is unless you like to wait 20 turns to make just one army and fight a 'huge' campaign against the three stack hordes of the west XD

EB caters to a particular style of play, it is slow and a lot of work is required by the player, but that is what attracted me to it.

Its not going to be to everybodys taste of course but I think 'boring' is rather harsh.

Fortunately for us TW fans, the mod scene is very healthy and there are mods out there for all tastes.

edit: I'm playing with one turn recruitment btw, to slow the damn thing down a bit.

True, boring is too harsh to apply to any mod, and is in the realm of the player's preferrences. Too me, 1-turn is boring (LOL) but a lot of people like it.

0 turn recrutament is great i mean ,i've fought some real epic battles because both the al and me have a lot of full stack armies(thx to my computer with 2 gb ram),like for instance a battle for Pergam,2 full stack seleucid armies,1 full stack ptolemaic army,my 2 full stack pontic armies,a full stack pergamian garisson and 2 full stack armies for the greeks, all of uss tried to get our hands on the city,in a very big epic battle wich i won ,in the end i had only 2 units that survived ,but hey i won

yeah 0-turn is the best, last day i played the original rtw at a friends house for a few turns and it was soo different that i just quit the game, guess i'm used to rs1.5 as a standard!

The game play is indeed a different variety when compared to Vanilla.

I've been lost at times when switch to mods that require one or more turns per unit. Hence why I'm terrible with most BI-only mods.

Why is it that in my war with Gaul(im Rome) i am absolutely getting my ass handed to me right now? Whats the deal with 2 to 3 full stack armies w/ 8 or more star generals(some captains though rarely) streaming through the Alps every single turn? Not to mention all the "free peoples", i cant recruit fast enough. im slowly dying and i have a huge treasury. i like a challenge, but c'mon

ps. even the Gallic "navy" is owning me

If you told us that you were using 0 or 1 turn recruitment, the difficulty level of the game (campaign/battle) and which exe you are using we may be able to offer some advice.

I've never found the Gauls easy to beat, they are very tough customers.
