Hello,
thanks to a lot of people on this forum i realized i was playing without rgeard to settings etc., so what i first did was play RTW with RS 1.5a as Carthage.
In my first campaign i had installed RS with the 0 turn feature on or so i thought. I set the settings to h/vh, and started the game.
Despite building farms, traders and roads, and not too many armies i was soon bankrupt. Then there was rioting all over my cities, and even setting taxes to the lowest level, and building all that would support happiness i never gained control again. Thus i lost Spain, Sicily and had no money to rebuild destroyed buildings let alone any armies, which then only accelerated the deterioration of my "empire" lol. Was a sobering experience to see the free people have army stacks i only could dream of. I lost all my armies in fighting Syracuse and free people in Africa.
Only then i realized (as Victor Maximus told me) to invade Spain and build up the economy there - my strategy had been to get Africa first, but it did not turn out as economically worth it.
And i thought i was good at it lol, Roma surrectum sure is more realistic in every respect.
Then i read those settings were alright, but i should try the 1-turn setting.
However i wanted the 0-turn setting to try it out once more: When i copied the files to my data folder it warned to overwrite the two files, having another size and date of creation. So i must have had the 1-turn files installed before (?)
So i started a new imperial career: 0-turn, h/vh again, no battle time limit, as Carthage once more. However now things turned out completely differrent:
Instead of a production of some 20.000 money, and spending this amount for building etc. in the previous campaign i now have a production of 40.000+ per turn, with an upkeep of some 20.000 - and can spend 20.000 of it for building EVERY turn.
Is there something wrong with my installation, or is the 0-turn thing supposed to work this way ? I am sorry but i did not find a complete list of the Roma surrectum features, there are only small hints here and there - or maybe i am too dumb to find it ?
Thanks and greetings,
Hampsicora
