[Wip] Chivalry I : The Voicemod Enhancement Project

Since the earliest disscussions of this voicemod, it has been decided that the voicemod project will be put in use. currently we are working on middle English, middle german, and old spanish. the voicemod team is made of only 2 members: myself, and PseudoRomanus(both members of this mod's team). we are currently seeking volunteers for the rest of the languages in the voicemod, including the voicing and research of middle german (since vowels in that language are beyond my abilities). here are the languages in need of poeple for their developement:

confirmed:
1-old french (high priority-that will be used for all european units that are universal to all faction there)

2-Italian (from the 11-13th centuries)

3-medieval greek (10-13th centuries)

4-middle german (need someone who can pronunce+let me focus solely on middle english)

5-middle English (by yours truely)

6-old spanish (by pseudoromanus)

maybe:
5-old norse(well, denmark is a faction). dependant on what will be in v1.0 in that faction.

The internal executive-leader for this voicemod is Gen.jamesWolfe.
All kind of questions/organisations etc. shall go to him.

Portugueses haven't a faction-slot, but are part of the Reconquista units in the Castile faction and so reflect slighty the Portuguese people.

i could do some old norse voices. Researching the right words might be harder tho', as i am not exactly a academic type ;P

Atterdag ... where are you? (he is a Dane and should know more about it).
I personally have no idea, if the old Danes spoke Norse or had already rather another language-style.

i reckon the Scandinavians all spoke "norrøn" but with different dialects. but yeah, you might rather want a danish guy do the danish voices than a norwegian guy ;D
it puzzles me that Norway isn't a faction tho'... and sweden as well.

the usual: attack, forward, run, retreat, rally, ready, aim, fire, fire at will, halt, spread out, tighten up, make new formation, etc. It's all there in the voices section of the sound file

I just remembered... i have something i can use for the assassins. we had this assignment at school.... well anyways. my point is i have this Norse line "Spakr knifr sker best." which translates to "a silent blade cuts best" usable, no?
EDIT: i cant get the game to work. SOMEONE (my brother) have installed a LOTR mod i dunno how to remove.
i shall try some more tho'

I don't know if I'd be any good at voice-acting, of course, but I can say mostly correct stuff.

well, If you want to help: the job is yours. all I ask is that you have deepened your voice (over 13 then), and I am to recieve the files in .wav format that is compatible with RTW. (so yeah, we have no old french)

there is no guarantee that ths will be released with the other voicemods though. It might be released seperately..

Well, my voice is definately as deep as it can get, but one time in three (at least) over the 'phone I'm mistaken for a woman Still, could be worse--I've never been told "stop pranking us, child!" when calling the emergencies, at least, so I guess I don't have a child's voice.

I'll send you some samples tomorrow, at any rate.

you do that-just make sure it works both in campaign and custom battle mode.

I've got a sample I made on my MP3 player/dictaphone, but it's not edited and you've got parasite sounds at the end. It's not got the same tone as the game's voices, either anyway it's here: http://rapidshare.com/files/200393012/VOICE001.WAV the word is "piétaille", which is a rather contemptuous word for infantry ("genz de pié", to use the old french spelling, would really be more appropriate for the infantry's response).

(i've been trying to imagine chiv music and weapon noise in the background while playing this, and it sounded alright....as i said earlier)
