    Default NEW MOD - RISE OF HELLAS

    I know that there are a lot of greek mods for RTW. most of them are dead.
    but still, i wanted to make this new mod set between the years 525 BC - 356 BC. there are 4 turns per year, resulting in 676 turns. I am looking for modelers, mappers, coders and everyone that wants to help. I am a 2d artist and skinner

    WHY RTW? because although i have M2TW, buildings and cities can only be edited in RTW...
    WHY IS THIS MOD DIFFERENT THAN OTHER GREEK MODS? because what i chose to focus about is THE CITIES. by city i mean the city itself- one of the aims of the mod is to reconstruct most of the cities, sanctuaries, temples etc.

    Also, i reckon someone managed to do 3D naval battles for RTW. maybe we will use it

    The map will be greece, western asia minor, and crete.

    sounds good i am just learning how to map so i can't help you right now but i might later on unless you don't mind having a mapper with no experience and is prone to up every second then i will help straight away

    I don't know if i can do this, but maybe every city-state in greece will be a different faction, to make it more real. because there is a unit limit, the unplayable "less important" cities will all have the same units, as if they were one faction, but they will have their own unique faction colors, symbols and names. What do you think?

    Nice idea Lewagal, I will help if you want, like I have said in Agon, I am learning skinning fast, but until then, I can help with basic coding. However, my only concern is that you might have a little competition with Hegemonia:Total War, which despite rumours, is still alive. However they have a slightly different time, and, like you said, one of your main aims is the buildings.

    Unforetunately, the faction limit for BI is less than RTW, 17 in fact

    Not true at all. The limit is the same as RTW, 20 factions + 1 rebel faction.

    You can put pretty much all of BI's features into RTW. How exactly you do that, I don't know, but I'm sure the TWC Wiki would have something on it.

    Either way, you still have more factions than are allowed. So, in order to cut the list down, I suggestion you cut the Etruscans/Latins, along with any others that are far from the mainland and don't have much influence in Greek politics.

    Also (this might just be my opinion), but if you are looking to make a Greek mod that tries to simulate the City-States accurately, I suggest limiting the map to Greece itself, along with the areas it had a great deal of influence in (such as Ionia, Crete, etc). I understand that the Etruscans and others were heavily influenced by the Greeks, but what are they going to do? Conquer Greece before Xerxes does? In my opinion, stretching the map that much further just for Etruscans/Latins is a waste; there's plenty of Roman/Italian mods out there already.

    I too am a novice mapper, but if you want, I can offer what little help I can. I haven't completely made a map on my own yet, but I have a pretty good understanding of the files.
